After looking at the options in that price range, and reading reviews about the amps, it came down to this one and the dc5k. Well the dc is 200 bucks more that I put towards batteries.

I'll probably just start on Android 4.0 since my phone has it and my new tablet will soon.

I've been reading for a while now and haven't made it out of Android basics...

Work on the platform you can also test. Much better to test on the actual application instead of a simulator.
