Not a fan of the Jap bikes, but i do understand their appeal.

It has a lot to do with using tech more recent than 1950 tractors and that they are reliable make more hp and use less oil and fuel and weigh less and have better design and ballance and better suspension and thought about comfort and geometry and .....

NM u get it.

;)

I remember neon.

Anyway, fat cat live another day. Wife couldn't put him down yet. He does look happier today.... Maybe it was the right choice.

I ensure you, I do get it. Although not all of what you said was true...

The Americans are working their way to the podiums though!

Getting ready for two months without sunshine. :sleepwerd4:

At least you are going to get great traction in the snow! Have to love Michigan winters. :bull:

They're also designed primarily with racing in mind and far less practical if you're an everyday rider. Low torque and high HP, racetrack gearing, uncomfortable riding position and when it falls over in your driveway you can damn near total it out.

I'll take european over jap any day. American sits right beside jap IMO, they both focused on the wrong part of design/marketing.

I'm interested in seeing the EBR line-up when it comes out. I wouldn't mind a Triumph 675 or a KTM Duke myself. The only real Jap bike i could see myself on is an early 2000 Vmax.

I read an article a few years ago about the Duke, it seemed like a good time no doubt.

The street triple is kind of growing on me, I just wish they used the larger displacement triple instead of the 675. I want torque and a 8-10k redline, not hp and 13k. Anything with plastic on it is automatically a bike to look at, not to own.

It's still a problematic design. I have stopped for 13 American made bikes and 2 Japanese bikes in all my years. 3 were buells. They are making headway and win some, but its a bit like American soccer teams making a big win.

They may get there some day but for now its just the sun shining on a dogs ass.

Lol at Matt. My 954 sits like a comfy chair has gobs ofTQ, cheep parts, and plastic protects the body if it does tumble. I've been there and done it. Naked is cooler by far but sacrifices too much.

Luckily the kitteh is not diabetic Aaron. I don't know how but he's just a mega fat bastard. He's on kitteh Atkins and aspirin for kittehz.

I hope he pulls through.

has gobs ofTQ

how much torque? Couldn't find a number online.

Naked is cooler by far

Therefore I win. :D

The only thing I don't like the Buell so far is the unavailability of parts

So tempted to buy 2 Orphans, maybe I can pay for one and convince Mike to hold a second till the next paycheck...

Orphan 8? I have one if you are in the market for another.

Really ?

I was thinking about replacing my RLi 10 with 2 Orphans...

Will you make a new fiberglass enclosure if you do that?

No chance of fitting two in the box I have now.

Either way, it's probably wishful thinking, since I have a ton of other things to spend money on :(
