^Got him there.

Well well well. I'm going to move my rear battery, mount my amps elsewhere, and throw my old box in. Not finding anyone interested in a box large enough they could live in, :WTFBubble:

I'd rather continue to use it then just throw it away to make space in the garage. Plus I've come to the conclusion that as much space as it takes up, doesn't really matter, still got the backseats and I never carry more then one passenger.

Time to do some planning and be creative with mounting all the amps. :dancing:

Poured a small concrete slab today, that was fun. 35 60lb bags really doesn't cover much...

helped my friend do the evry mod on his tdi beetle last night.. very surprised with the results. pours smoke pretty nice :morepower1:

Pouring smoke under boost means he's not doing it right. Smoke does not mean power.

i think it just has something to do with how the mod works.. once the boost builds up enough it stops smoking. in a very nonscientific test we measured a 0-60mph time of ~10sec, my friend said it was closer to 13-14 before.

the mod consist of bridging a potentiometer across 2 pins on the fuel harness.

here's something from a tdi forum

"...what is happening is that the 10-pin connector (joining the main wire from the ECU to the Injection Pump) is being hot-wired into producing a different voltage, which alters or magnifies the ECU's signal in a similar manner that a Tuning Box does. This increases the amount of fuel the injection pump pushes and advances the timing..."

You probably trick the engine into thinking it gets more air that it actually getting. Stupid mod and no way it will shave 3-4 sec off the 0-60 time. It will overfuel whenever he's off-boost. Hello high EGTs.

Retune, bigger injectors nozzles, bigger intercooler (stock one is a joke) and bigger exhaust for starters. Now that's how you would go about modding a TDI, not with a resistor.

What he said. Not to mention black smoke (aka soot) is toxic to the lungs and the environment.

Except when it comes from a steam tractor :P

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Wouldn't mind one of those newer 2L TDI Golf 5 door hatchbacks...would probably change the wheels to base model's 15" though, 17" rim on a 25 inch tire is a bit ridiculous

I just used the quickrete quick mix, just add water.

Drop one 60lb bag in wheelbarrow, slash a cross, flip bag over, pull up from sides and the bag will split in two emptying out. I did two bags to a wheelbarrow (otherwise I'd probably spill the shit moving it across the front yard to back yard).

Then had a spray gun type handle on the end of the water hose. Spray, lightly mix concrete around with hoe, push all concrete forward in wheelbarrow, spray more water into bottom (like a little lake), then start pulling down concrete mixing with hoe until the large puddle starts to thicken.

Then keep pulling down more concrete and adding water. Spray the wheelbarrow between each run, it'll help keep the concrete from sticking on the bottom.

The key is just to mix the shit a lot, get rid of any dry spots where it's still powder, and have a hose right next to where your mixing.

I'm certainly no pro but it worked for what I was doing. Just a small slab to go under a work table in the backyard.

I wouldn't mind one either, or the new 2door sti wrx hatchback. *too lazy to look for the drool cup icon, insert drooling face here*

Sweet, I'll look out for'em.

Funny question, do you guys ever use chainsaws?

I remember going through a haunt once and one of the guys ran through the public crowd with a chainsaw. I swore it was real but seems like that would be such a liability, like if he tripped, "Oh shit, sorry I just cut off your fucking head bro."

Yes we have a chainsaw, but there is no chain on it. The actor who carries it is 6'8" and scares the shit out of everybody.

Ahh that's it, no chain.

Yeah I must have been thirteen at the time, walking through a narrow passage between sets, and boom! this guys comes running out with it.

Of course at the time I wasn't thinking about liability issues. :P

We are inspected by the state and fully insured, so if there are any mishaps we are covered.

i think my friend got his numbers confused. it seems most sites are saying stock 0-60 is closer to 11-12 sec, so a 1 sec gain isn't phenomenal.

we ran the resistor into the cabin so its adjustable/defeatable

i dont disagree with you, seems like its a popular mod on tdi forums. if like most forum, its over hyped.. i think he might do some legit mods later on. i think he's planning to do the intercooler and exhaust soon.

he picked the beetle up for ~1500 so its pretty much just something to beat on. originally it had some body damage that he fixed up. also, there was a problem with the turbo, over boost error or something like that, that we managed to fix (i think it turned out to be a bad MAF).
