900 a pop? Easily done for 2 rooms. Try the Bellagio, The Ventian, Rio, Pallazo or Ceasars in that budget. Bellagio has villas with 2 bedrooms. Might make shit easier? They aren't 'cheap' but are very nice.

If you do go eat at Club Niki at Tropicana one night. The outside of the casino/hotel looks like its old but the inside is classy. The food there is a bit pricy but the Wagyu skirt steak is REALLY fuckin good. SOOOOOOOOOOO tender and the mojito was perfect.

If one of you is military (reserve active ng makes no difference) you can get a SHIT TON of discount on your show tickets. Like some are 2 for the price of one.

Also the Excaliber has the Tournament of Kings. Kinda family oriented event but decent food and a nice show. The wenches and clevage make it worth while.

The stratosphere has a 'free fall' attraction. Check that out too if $$$ and time permits.

Hooters has mediocore at best food, the dealers are sub par at best anf the games while cheap are pretty shitty. Try the bigger casino's for better odds and more fun.

If you need club recommendations just ask.

Yeah, we ate at the Tropicana and did a show there. The outside doesn't look all that hot, but it was a decent joint and the slots were loose. My wife won quite a bit there on the bandits. The tables were not so kind to me there though.

Excaliber TOK is cool too. I love medieval shows and festivals though.

We liked breakfast at the Luxor too.

I thought I read that the Stratosphere closed the rides :ughdunno: . We did the coaster and free fall, definitely cool. We haven't been in years, though so i don't know. The wife wants to go back again, and with my youngest son (the only one still at home) visiting my sister for a week in August we may go for a weekend while he is gone.

Hooters is overrated everywhere. The best one I went to was in San Antonio on the river walk, but that was about 20 years ago.

So, I think the bachelor party might be taking Travis (Tmax98, ya know, guy who hasn't been around in a long while) to Vegas for a weekend for his bachelor party. It will be 9 guys total. Anyone have any insight on where to stay, etc...?

Budget, goals of the party in mind, and number of rooms desired.

All these things will infulence my ideas.

J

9 guys so if would do 2 rooms it would be cool. If we could do one badass room that would be cool (Or Condo or something). Goals are probably to do some drinking, gambling (if in the area), any kind of event would be good (Sporting, etc..), beaches are good, women are good, a great party atmosphere. I'll throw out no strippers though because, honestly, eff that I have a girl friend and I get to touch.

Budget and are you driving/flying?

Flying, unless it was somewhere close to Texas. Everyone is busy with stuff so it will be a late flight Friday and return on Sunday.

Honestly we want to spend about $900 per. Flight, Hotel, entertainment, etc.

Sounds like you have the budget for a flight and two meals. Peaked at flights and they were around $350 from Houston. Considering that is so much of your budget I'd seriously consider looking for something close to you or an all inclusive special 4 day weekend somewhere like Costa Rica or something more memorable. What you'll remember from Vegas is that the strippers don't do jack unless you spend too much, you wasted too much money attempting to gamble, you overpaid for shows that aren't anything special, and that you engaged and saw the scum of the earth walking around. Of course the one benefit could be you had one hell of a meal someplace, but then you won't get to do anything else.

I didn't know Hooters was over rated, I thought everyone knew they pretty much sucked. Best ones though are always in small towns. :)

Why do my relatives think it's unusual that I want a few days off after working almost non-stop on my diploma project for 3 weeks ?

"Adrian, come fix my computer, come install my new software, help me with my math homework"

What am I, a charity house ?

While in Vegas I'd like to see the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, the lights of Vegas, see the casinos, and get the hell out of Kansas to somewhere we've never been.

Good answer. :)

I still do a little free work for family, everything else is for money/food/booze.

Since I have a little extra cash right now I’m thinking about taking the wife on a vacation. I would like to go out of the country I think. I’m not sure where or when, but something really awesome to get our minds off work/school/life for a while.

We never got a honey moon as we spent the extra on throwing a nicer wedding and inviting more people so we could get 3 generations on both sides of the family together. It will probably be the last time for most of them to all be together. It was worth it but we missed out on the adventure for ourselves and it might be time to look into it.

For those of you have traveled, what would be the best vacation spot? No African/Asian safari trips, and no cruise type where every second is scheduled. Just an awesome place to see great things, and have some fun.

what time of year?

Don't care at all. Lowest cost is good. I don't think I would like to travel to a place colder than MN in the winter though. :)

Not that it would be easy to find a great travel spot that cold.

My brother went to the Bahamas for his honeymoon last year and from the photos I saw, it is a mix of all that. They really enjoyed themselves.

Oh also do any of you guys have opinions on lawn mowers/tractors?

For mowers, I prefer Lawn Boy, but i don't know if they are made anymore. Toro and Honda make great equipment also. Riding mowers or tractors I am a Simplicity guy. They have the best floating deck on the market IMO. Gives for the smoothest cut. Of course, this is all dependent on how much you are cutting and what you are cutting as well. I've had a Wheel Horse, Craftsman, Cub Cadet and the Simplicity and I LOVE my Simplicity. My dad just bought a Deere a couple years ago and he's been wanting to trade it in on a Simplicity ever since.

Thanks for the tips. I only have a .7-.8 lot. I can't remember. I just get too lazy to push mow as it takes a few hours and in the hot sun that means a few breaks.

On a rider I can bring a 6pack on ice with a big water jug and make an afternoon of it.

I wouldn't mind looking elsewhere but it would have to be somewhere in the states (no passports). Unfortunately he's getting married "early" since the only guy that has really started his career is our Navy buddy, so this bachelor party will be (hopefully) the cheapest one.

Quick question, had a big Doh.gif this morning. I left some sealed fajita chicken breast packages in my truck all night. This morning they were room temp. I put them back in the fridge. Trash it or Keep it?

Our Kubota has been nothing short of exceptional, if that helps any

I have heard good things. I'm most likely to buy used and I haven't seen too many on the market but knowing they last helps.

My big tractor is a Kubota. It kicks @ss, but being a diesel it plays hell to start in freezing weather. My rider for the main house lot is an old Wheel Horse circa 1982 when Wheelhorse was it's own entity. 52 inch deck, 18 HP V-twin Briggs, hydrostatic trans (with hydraulic lift). It ain't pretty but it is built like a brick shithouse, and aside from replacing starter gears (they shatter in the freezing cold) deck wheels, belts, blades, normal maintenance stuff I have never had an issue. I have a 4 foot plow blade for it and tire chains and it will clear the driveway in a heartbeat. It was my Grandfather's and he bought it brand new. He gave it to me when I bought my first house many years ago. Toro bought them in the 90s though, so I am not sure they are of the same quality.

As was mentioned, steer clear of the Home Depot/Lowes mower lines. Most are farmed out POS MTDs. Even the John Deere's are MTD crap with a green paint job. Look at real mower dealers if you want a mower that will give you a decade or more of good service.

Exactly why my comments were to MK and not you. HD, GC, RR are all worth doing. Thought about the helicopter ride through the canyon myself...

Drinking on the beach relaxing type or surrounding yourself in culture type vacation? Rough budget?

$900 is NOT a cheap bachelor party. I've never spent anywhere near that, lol. Drinks and a few lap dances is a cheap bachelor party.

Can be said about ANY outdoor appliance. I learned the hard way on leaf blowers. Bought a cheap homelite backpack at HD. It didn't blow shit and broke in 2 years. Then I bought the biggest Echo they carry. It didn't blow shit so I sold it. Now up to $525 in Leafblowers that I then sold for $125 - net cost $400. Then I found a real dealer and bought a Shindaiwa. Holy fuck, I can "shovel" with it. Thing rocks. $450 more but considering I wasted that figuring out the rest were shit it was a lesson learned. Something to be said about a real powersports yard dealer for tools.

My whole bachelor party was roughly 900 bucks. We had 5 guys 1 bar one nightclub and 1 naked woman place. Then back to a house to have a bash.

It was absolutely awesome, and if we had a few hundred more I would guess even better as we could have stayed in a hotel downtown rather than cab. I had 3 unemployeed friends there in fact. :)
