Bleh, fiberglass dust sucks...

I hope you wear a mask.

Every time I sand. This time I was cleaning the floor with the vacuum, had lots of mdf chips to clean. As soon as I hit a small patch of FG dust, BAM, dust everywhere.

And I'm going to move away from mechanical sanding fiberglass. Elbow grease = less dust in the air.

You should start wet sanding.

Or better yet, make a move to gel coat.

How is that to lay down/change colors on?

It's cake. It can be brushed, sprayed, dripped, dipped, hell pretty much any way you can think to apply something. I've brushed and used an atomizer for application before and it worked great. Hell, he could use tooling gel coat on his molds, get them perfect, then never have to sand anything, or use finish gel on the ports themselves and not have to paint. I'm not too sure about colors as I've only used black and white, but I have seen some that can be tinted and I am pretty sure you can buy it already colored.

Oh, link?

Just punch in gel coat and google the millions of results.

I do use it on the inside of the port. Some minor defects to fix though as it doesn't come out perfect and anything less than perfect isn't ok :)

Most of the elbow grease is for the outside of the flare, for which I don't have a mold...but I'm working on it. And the sanding is done after filler, works much much easier...

Here's a trick for you.

Take your filler, mix it with resin until you have a consistency you like, then mix in your MEKP and you have a pourable/spray-able/brush-on filler.

I want white. Want to do the side panels of my snowmobile. Surface prep?

You're better off using paint in your case. I would only use gel coat when molding a piece from scratch, and I would paint or cover it as well if it were in a high-impact environment such as your sled. Are the panels plastic or something else?

Plastic and a little flexible. Paint doesn't hold up well I read, but basically have no idea.

That sounds like a nice idea. I'll give it a go on some spare flares I have. Brush-on sure beats putty knife :)

The De Tomaso Deauville concept debuted at the Geneva Motor Show to mostly disappointed reactions. Even if it wasn't a re-dressed Cadillac SRX, it would be tough for anything to live up to the spectacular and long-running Pantera that DeTomaso is most commonly known for.

If you're concerned that the new De Tomaso will descend the rat hole of unattractive milquetoast cars, fear not! The Pantera will be back. According to Pistonheads, De Tomaso will bring a new Pantera to the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. No further details are forthcoming, but it's a glimmer of hope for enthusiasts.

So my wife and kids are tring to convience me that they need smartphones. Hell we barely use our current phones why would I need to pay more to surf the internet on a phone I ask them.

Needless to say they had no answer, atleast not yet.

im trying to convince my parents to get on my verizon plan with me and my bro so my bill will go down.. i showed my dad what pandora is/does tonight and he really interested now :woot:

So my two kids settled for new phones the non smart type, but the wife is still undecided. My current bill is pretty cheap and I would like to keep it that way.
