I am going insane! I have had this ham in for 8 hours now, still not done, and I've not eaten anything since noon because I've been smelling this bitch all day. Hurry up!

Had a slightly productive evening last night, cut very short by a sleeping toddler. Some glue work done though :)

Are you finally using that bad ass table saw?

I've used it for a few things :) Installing the oven, built some shelves, made picture frames, just haven't built the bathroom sink. I've never made a tenon joint before and didn't want to start with real expensive wood.

Ah, its new. That's why. Looks like a knock off and considering there is nothing proprietary about ceramic I don't see why that is a negative.

+ it is almost half the price of a BGE. I will have to keep an eye out for these.

Yup, they're basically a Chinese made BGE clone; played with a floor model at Lowe's a while back

Quoted from the website, admiting that they are selling you junk.lol

My firebox cracked. What should I do?

First of all let us start out with a photo of my firebox. See how it has broken into 3 pieces. This is how it has been for two and a half years. There is no reason to remove it from the egg very often, but I have pulled it out here to show you how completely broken it is, yet it works just as well as a brand new firebox:

crackedfbt.jpg

A cracked/broken firebox. Almost everyone has had their firebox crack and break. While this probably shouldn't be called "normal", it is actually normal. What we all have found is that the firebox will continue to work just fine when cracked or broken. Owners have used their Grills for several years with cracked and broken fireboxes, so there is nothing wrong with continuing to use yours.

You don't need a replacement firebox, as the current one will not cause any problems and will continue to work.

As I have already said, the cracked and broken fireboxes work perfectly well. It is important to note that today's fireboxes crack and break, but the DO NOT disintegrate or crumble to dust. Once they crack or break, and the stress is relieved, they will probably crack no more and break no more. We are working on a fire box with a slit so it can take the stress of expansion and contraction better. Well, guess what you have when your firebox cracks and breaks? A multi-part firebox! Once your firebox looks like mine, it will probably provide good service for the rest of your life.

True. Seen that on the forums before as well. No ones complained of that on the Viking though but good luck finding people that have them lol.

The wife burnt the blender gears up grinding oreos and she had the nerve to try and sneek my frozen concoction maker. I put a stop to that real fast!

I put mine into thermal overload twice two weeks ago. Putting in a pound of veal, pork fat, pork, ice and 4oz of water wasn't so nice. :P I don't have a cuisinart though so how else could I make Weisswurst.

You guys need a Blendtec total blender

I actually don't see a problem with the firebox cracking... As long as you don't loose pieces it should work the exact same.

His cracking post was about an Egg.

My grate broke though. Should have replaced it with a metal one like the BGE has instead of the Viking ceramic.
