Sean my food etiquette is not the best. Especially when it comes to the holidays. However I do know somethings that pairs nicely.

- An Orange custard, or home made pudding. Think a mamosa style finish?

- A raspberry tart?

- Pigs in a blanket?

J

Thanks for the input J. The first I just am flat out not a baker, the second must be tart otherwise it will kill the bubbly but an interesting idea, and the third, well not with Dom :) I like the tart idea, but already baking 4 pies for the day.

Honestly Custards and pudding isnt that bad to make. If I can do it and its edible I know you could make it taste amazing. As for the tart but having the pies, to me it kind of 'warms the palate' for the pies to come. Lets you know that seans pie really is going to taste as great as it looks. Add in that the texture of the tart will really POP with the bubbly.

If you alarm either the metal detector or the AIT, you would also receive a patdown groping

Well, I'm fucked :greddy2:

Hmm, food question for you. :)

11am Dom moment. I need to pair something with it, will offer a rasberry to float in it as that's a breakfast treat but unsure what else I want to do. Only 11 people so I am willing to do something fun.

blini, creme fraiche and caviar is an option but my wife shouldn't really eat raw anything at the moment and it is sort of unfair to drop $100 on something tasty and not share

same problem with some sort of sashimi bite, at the moment I want scallop BAD :(

cheese is something we will have after the turkey and it shouldn't be had twice so close together

I am not doing anything fried...unless someone has a clever amuse-bouche that would pair perfectly

The champagne is too nice for anything too BIG but I am open to pretty much anything. Considering I only have to make the turkey, gravy, potatoes, & stuffing I should have a ton of time. If it needs to be fresh seafood, not a problem as I have to drive to Coastal for some oysters for the stuffing anyways.

More people will see this here, but if I get a lot of ideas I'll move it to homeaudio :)

Only part of the post I understand.

Thanks Ryan! You made me re-read my post and realized the "normal" terms in it, never once thought about that while I was typing though. Here it is again.

Gonna get drunk in the morning with my whole family and we all are going to pretend it is civilized. Rich Uncle will up the ante and bring some expensive champagne and I have to serve something to eat.

pancakes, sour cream, and fish eggs are an option but I done knocked up my wife and she can't eat fish eggs now

same problem with eating a raw scallop with some vegetables and a sauce

no cheese, I don't like it in the morning before a meal, but after yeah baby.

I love deep fried shit with champagne, but it is a pain in the ass for 11 people and fuck that shit. Plus its breakfast. Tempt me.

Someone in the family will yell at me if I put garlic in our snack or anything really strong tasting. Considering I only have to make the turkey, gravy, potatoes, & stuffing I'll make something else to. I have access to nearly anything.

More people will see this here, but if I get a lot of ideas I'll move it to homeaudio :)

I would go with something over the top rich. You could try individual or just small slivers of quiche.

You can add a spinach inside or out. You can add bacon inside or out.

I would make a baconey rich quiche I think with maybe a smal nibble of bacon on top of your favorite delicate greens.

I have served quiche as an apetizer before and if it's a small peice and well done it's a hit.

Definitely had thought about a quiche as well. Eggs and bubbly are almost as classic as raw fish and bubbly. Damnit I want to serve some sashimi.

How about a smolked salmon or lox slice on top of quiche with greens?

It's not exactly what you want, but the smolked salmon could take the place of bacon and would be AWESOM. It would be classic and contemporary.

Do any of your guys who spend all day in front of a PC in a cube have any tips on eye and wrist strain. The normal stuff isn't working.

I'm going to buy some grip strength stuff to work that all day, but my wrists are becoming weak not just grip. And my eyes are being a bit goofey lately. I thought about those goofy Gaming glasses but I would feel really dumb. Any yello tinted lens would cut out more blue light and help I suppose, but seriously. I'm slowly falling apart in this cube.

I like the combination, and am even hungry for lox but alas it is raw fish again and Kari can't have it. Although in this case it isn't expensive so that is acceptable. Not sure I have time to make lox before Thur AM though :P

one of the most effective things for eye strain (besides glare reduction and changing the lighting) is to look away from your computer every 20 minutes or so and gaze at a distant object at least 20 feet away for at 20-30 seconds.
