And when they aren't aimed right it is even worse. Hell even shitty lights aimed poorly can suck it.

Or when they put HID's in a halogen case (99% of HID users that didn't have stock HID's to begin with)

Same here, I don't want to tell him to kiss off though but would like to point him in a direction that actually makes some sense which is why I asked.

Phillips Silver Stars are the only thing I am currently comfortable with pointing him to.

I will add that unlike other asshats who want to do this I understand his motivation. He wants his baby daughter to be seen more. Bright shit will do that.

I HATE people with extremely bright headlights (The HID's).. especially on raised trucks... My car is low so i get these assholes headlights straight in my face and i hate it.. even when my windows are tinted at 20%

Same here. My last Mustang was the worst as it was so low, I was even in direct line with several normal vehicles.

I always feel bad when I'm driving the backhoe at night (back from work, duh). Headlights are taller than anything and it blinds people :(

For those occasions the LED light bar I'm building will be perfect revenge. 80-100 1 or 3w leds, with lens. Should be pretty bright. Other than that I'd only have it on when I'm alone on the road :)

The problem occurs when people just put HID bulbs in halogen cases, they need projectors in order to not blind people :(

I had HIDs put in my Xterra for one reason.

The wife was learning how to drive. She learned by being my DD at least once a week.

I wanted her to be seen. And boy is she.

TRUTH !

But even projectors can blind people if they aren't aimed right.

Exactly, brother! :lol2:

Normally if someone is going to spend extra and get the projectors too I hope they plan on aiming them

90% of people don't work logically :P

Mind you, after I upgraded my wiring it was clear that the right headlight was aimed like shit...

I can spend $15K and have something that will run circles around any super car. . . It's still ugly to me.

It's even worse when they also have fog lights.

I use the brightest I can find on my Expy. I also however use yellowish tinted lights. You can look directly at the lights on my truck and even though they are bright they don't cause pail like the cooler blue lights. I really want HID off road lights, and I NEED new headlights as mine look like milk now. I won't change though unless I can get a warmer light though.

I challenge that and raise you the A holes who put in after market projectors and then install cheep HID's and don't mount them properly. Glare and an incorectly focused/aimed beam. Awesome.

It's probably even worse for their view as they will for sure use a Blue or purple light and it will dazle them and make perceived contrast much much worse.

Eff HID, go LED Light bar. That's my next project. I don't want to spend $1k on a 40 inch light bar...plus I'll be able to build any width I want, any intensity, pattern etc etc. Probably won't look as nice but should perform close.

Here is the one Rigid Industries makes:

projectors will worsen the issue unless they have a "shutter" or internal eyebrow to block part of the light that enters the lens. That's why it's tolerable on european vehicles because they spent big time and money on making it right and blocking light well below what the average driver would see as a horizon.

those projector lenses aren't even bad with warm HID's, and are no issue with halogens in general. But you add blue to the picture and it messes with the human eye SO bad...

I have been looking at that as an option. I would only want to use warmer LEDs though and lots of the warmer top bin LEDs are still cost prohibitive.

Have you seen any DIY examples? I'm a bit of a light fanatic.

No DIY examples but I've seen how these are built and have several friends which work with LED lighting..

Sourcing parts is EASY, except the radiator they need. But I'll think of something.

After seeing the vid I'm SOLD on this stuff.

And looks like a fwd turd. Sure I am all for fast, but a car should stir the soul in that price range as well. If the only goal is to run circles around the ZR-1, but a 3 yr old Elise for $25k and spend $5k on some forced induction and you'll kill them both.

I HATE the Cayman. Should be a VW, not a Porsche.

Expand plz?

Its ugly, its little, no space, and it isn't comfortable.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of a mid-engine car but not particular a P car.

If you could fit comfortably would you dislike it?

I talked to the dealer and they said they often will adjust where the seat is bolted down for tall fellas as there is more room to move back in some of the interiors.

They even put the fancy 911 wrinkle seats in one. Could be just salesman steam, but I felt he was a more honest kid.

Wow, just about the worst factory lights I've seen.

How much power will those pull? Curious as I could use something better on the snowmobile :)
