So I am driving on I-15 in Utah (insert jokes here) and I see an 80 MPH speed limit sign acompanied by another sign reading "speed limit test zone next 20 miles". after the 20 miles the speed returned to 75 and then after awhile the was another test section. Strange seeing 80 MPH on a sign. I have drove in Montana with no speed limit, but the 80 was wierd. :ughdunno:

Montana has a speed limit again :(

80 MPH speed zones are a godsend when you're out in the middle of Bumfuck Nowhere

typically means the traffic goes about 85-90

Well, it's officially that time again. Woke up this morning to a very thick layer of frost on the car and had to warm it up. Bull shit.

Fuck frost.

I hate that buzzword "Japanese steel" If done correctly, steel is steel. It doesn't matter what country the alloy comes from.

No doubt and it's used quite a bit. It's mainly because of the high volume that companies like powder metal and the other big one output from Japan. Kind of like how they call it white or blue steel. It's not a reference to the color of the metal but to the color on the shipping/package.

Hey guys I'm looking into MTB's (again)

Went to some local shops. The one that sells Trek (which of course I am bias to because of my road bike) seems to be getting a lot of bad reviews (high service prices mostly). They didn't have a huge selection but did have the bike I was interested in (4 Series Hardtail)

Went to another shop today to compare prices and such. They carry Specialized and Giant as well. I think they carry low end giant for people just looking for bikes to get around campus, but I'm sure that means they could order what I'm interested it. I rode a couple different frames (19" and 21") I really liked the 21" frame. I also rode 26" and 29" tires and both were basically fine. I didn't think the 29's look bad ass. As far as pricing is concerned it seems like Specialized was more bang for the buck. ($500 for a their disc brake hardtail Vs. $659 for Treks cheapest disk brake hardtail) Only thing is I really like the frame aesthetics and color schemes of the Trek's a lot more. However the Specialized 29'er with discs did look like a beast.

Anywayzzz I was looking for some advice from you guys on the situation.

possible comments

disc brakes vs. v brakes

26 vs 29

Specialized vs Giant vs Trek

thanks

Buy a more exotic style. Are you going downhill alot?

It's a bit like gloves when it comes to sizing though. unless it's made to fit you exactly, you will have some pros and cons. Not many people would want a 29. If you're in the 6' range though it might help/.

I know WAY too much about MTN bikes considering I don't own one and haven't been off pavement for 8 years probably.

I went there this year, it was the only time I have had red meat all year.

I feel sorry for you.

Last night alone I had venison, buffalo, beef, & duck. To go with it we ate some rabbit, quail, and whitefish. :)

:stomach growling:

Terrible time of year up here for me to shop for you.

I would try a non-Trek, non-Giant frame as well. Not sure what you have for dealers, but you picked brands with very similar geometries riding something completely different would be logical. you also only rode Chinese bikes btw.

This difference in the main stream vs the smaller guys like ellswoirth, Intense and banshee is so vast. It's amazing how much awesomesauce they put into some of those frames.

The tech goes lightyears beyond what I can even tell you, Sean could probably boil it down for you, but I'm going to be the nodding idiot who knows a sturdy bike that works from one that doesnt.

And that car is even sexier in person and sexier yet from the inside. Enough to where it somehow almost made me do the REALLY stupid.

Just buy the damn car or buy a brand new M5 and quit bitching about what to buy.

Win! Let me know when you get it too, I am driving up ASAP to fuck your car.

In Soviet MN, my car fucks you.

The wording seems to have changed, could have been the local media screwing with him. Changed to:

"Childress reportedly says Randy should be waived"

Sounds like the coach announced it without the support of the owner. I say fire the coach instead.
