$600 for bearings ? Are they made of platinum ?

Possibly...

He said my front left bearings are about to give out and he can easily shift my tire back and forth. He said it would be about $300 a tire. Idk shit about cars so whatever price he gives me sounds about right, lol.

Started the long process of detailing the little Mazda up to where I like to keep my cars.

What Mazda?

Started the long process of detailing the little Mazda up to where I like to keep my cars.

Little Mazda??

Had to find something in a hurry, wanted a manual, a wagon (for junior and audio), had to get something inexpensive, and got good mileage. Would have loved an A4 Avant, but was not in the cards, and the upkeep is more then I want at the moment. Long story short, searched everything and anything for a 100 mile radius, and this was flat out the best deal and even talked the guy down some, not to mention the car is in great shape and passed the insanely tough MD inspection easy.

Protege5?

Yes. Just put another hour in polishing it. Still working on the hood, front quarter panels are almost there.

Nice! I looked at those several times. Drove a turbo charged one and really liked it. Hell, every Mazda I've ever driven has been a pretty fun ride, of course they've all been turbocharged save for an old 85 RX-7. Make sure you post pics! Hoping it's black.

Apparent bullshit price top ^^

Depends on the vehicle and parts. I don't know what kind of vehicle you have but I'm guessing at that price, he's buying a hub assembly, which isn't out of line for OEM parts. Of course is that the price for just the parts or does that include labor as well?

they had a fully set up with fairly good glass and a bipod AR-50 for the same as the 110....

It was hard to not snatch that up.

For glass you had better got with a scope with turrets, and the same units on both the reticle and turrets. Something like a mil/mil setup, and get a laser range finder as well.

That's labor too, idk shit about the mechanical aspects of cars. Its a 2001 grandprix gt and I'd imagine its a whole new hub assembly.

Goodbye!!

I appreciate all your input BTW. I can't search most sites at work, and at home I have no time and no real friends who are into firearms the same way.

Nice car, man. What is next?

As for what is next, I am going to sell my truck. What I buy, I won't even know until it happens. Either way I won't be owning 3 vehicles anymore, two is enough.

My cost of ownership was $3200 including replacing the slave cylinder and all other repairs. Not bad for 5 years and 30k miles.

*only including service and depreciation

**standard wear items also excluded: ie brake pads, tires as these would be no different on any other car

Not bad Sean. I ran the KBB on mine and comps recently and I would loose about 900, and it's cost me 1400 over the 3 and a half years.

I'll drive that lump untill it explodes or falls apart on the road.

on rifles..... Some day I will probably need to itch the .50 BMG itch.... but it's just so much dang hassle to cary to load to use....

Even if I would be crazy enough to hunt with it... it's 10-15 pounds fatter than even the next heaviest.

.338 Lap will do me just fine I think.

I may feel like I need more though if I ever go hunting the wild and dangerous free range locomotive.

They can be wiley and resistant.
