where in Kansas again? Manhattan? Topeka? Wichita? Lawrence?

Lawrence

DUDE! I'll be living down there soon!! I hadn't realized we were so close.. I'll be going to Haskell Indian Nations University, after 3 years i'll transfer over to KU (Thought you might like that ;) ) We'll have to meet up when i get down there! I'm not sure if I'm staying on campus or getting an apartment.

:woot:

Lawrence is a great place and lots of cool stuff down there.

Sure thing. Glad you're escaping Misery :)

Oh Yeah, I'm pumped! How are the prices on the apartment's down there? I've heard they're fairly cheap.

Eh, not what I'd consider cheap. But I'm from western kansas. My apartment is 800 sq. feet, 1 bedroom, water & trash paid, and it's $705/month. But my complex is fairly new. I could have stayed in my former apartment, a 3 bedroom townhouse, for only about 100 more per month. But it wasn't as nice as the one I'm in now. However, of course the landlords were upgrading every other unit in the complex at that time so others were nicer, and they weren't going to upgrade ours until we left.

Well, I'll tell you what. You can just look for yourself. Most of the apartment complexes in the whole city (plus some duplexes) are listed on www.apartments.lawrence.com. If you tell me what kind of place you want, and maybe where, I can suggest some complexes if that's what you're looking at.

I have a scrunching noise in the front end of my Explorer. Only happens when I turn. We just put on new brake pads and rotors a couple months ago so I'm wondering if it has something to do with that. I don't want to look for an Escape and spend the money, but the Explorer seems to be pushing me to it.

Well, Somwhere close to Haskell would be great, 1 Bedroom, Washer/dryer, Maybe a carport or garage, Just kinda a college apartment, furnished if possible, Probably no more than 700/mo.

I don't think I've seen a furnished apartment in this whole place. But mine is probably in the top tier of pricing in the city. I just had very few options when I moved out of my old place because I only had about a month to find a place and literally this was about the last 1 bedroom place on this entire half of the city. My girlfriend is in a nearly new 2 bedroom duplex with double car garage and it's 950 a month. I'm not as familiar with the side of the city that Haskell is on, but I'll look if I remember. They just built some new complexes out that way. In fact I know of two, maybe three really big complexes that were just built in the city within the last 1.5 years because there was such a shortage of housing. If you want to have the most options for a place with a July or August lease start date, start looking and calling around in March.

It's the CV joints. Cheapest and easiest fix is to buy new front axles at $70/pc for lifetimje warranty ones, and spend an hour replacing them....

Drove a new and old S4, 335i, M3 and sat in a new Jeep G Cherokee today. Supposed to know about the SRT release next Thursday, or at least they are going to bug the shit out of the rep. Obviously not getting a lot of work done, but I have some conclusions on cars at this point. Still not decided completely but way closer than ever before.

where did the s4 and m3/335i come from???

that being said, even if you can't find fresh fish, there's always mail order

then again I'm spoiled rotten since my fish monger is literally a half mile or so from the front door; everything they sell comes off their boats from that morning's catch. Yummy :)

And mine is closer to you than me. Buddy of mine runs a shop/restaurant in your neck of the woods. Not exactly, but anyways.

Whereabouts?

Dallas. As I said, not exactly. :P

This has been what, a 2 year shopping deal? :runlaugh:

Yep. Would speed up if someone would buy the M and I had more time.

Have to be thorough. I've been driving the M lately and it makes me want another "small" car. :fing34:

Oh, and the S4 was just to preview what an RS4 would feel like on the inside :)

As for the M3 I didn't realize they made a 4 door....and they do. :)

4 door M3 is like a gorgeous woman with man and woman lower bits..

Great to look at first, and might be fun to play with, but completely wrong, and would upset my tummy when I noticed.

And the interior is god awful.

*has never seen one with Nav and Idrive though so maybe that helps

The 335i is NOT a BMW. They took all the driving pleasure out of it. A 12 year old girl could drive it fast though as it does everything easy. Feels too Japanese to me.

So DirecTV just called to say that they aren't going to be able to come hook up our service today as planned. Said that the 12th would be the earliest. Doesn't help that we already arranged for DishNetwork to cut off service by the end of today. Fuck.

So you're saying easy to drive fast and driving pleasure are mutually exclusive?

Interior is definitely much better with Nav, at least from the views I see on Autotrader.

What I am torn with is comfort vs performance. The 5 series is definitely more luxurious, the RS4 and M3 definitely more fun to drive but what is more important with something you have to live with everyday. And yes, I realize that the M5 solves all of these woes but adds one potential detractor and that is cost. It may not functionally fit within said budget.

Damnit. Everytime I turn the corner I guess it screams that I am an M5 driver. :(
