Another Question

What renters insurance do y'all suggest?

The one that an insurance broker you trust suggests. NEVER work with an agent for a single company, in particular at your age. It is the equivalent of throwing money down the drain.

ya i was looking into Assurant, because it was supposedly a good deal, im covering 20k of personal property and it works out to be $426 a year.

I dunno im still looking. My parents are still picking up the car insurance trying to make them keep that as long as possible even though my car only has liability on it.

My parents have state farm FWIW.

Your parents are getting raped....they should change to a broker. Really. WAY better coverage and less money.

$426 is absurd for renters, it should nearly be free with car insurance. Your car and renters shouldn't be 2x that a year.

Im not paying the $426, that was just a quote assurant gave me over the internet.

I will look into state farm and see what they offer.

those look awesome Peng

oh they are; they're also fried in Crisco so they are absolutely terrible for you :lol2:

I've been working with this recipe of and on for a while, think I finally nailed it down...yay

From the color I can tell they were in hot enough oil which means not so bad for you. (or you cooked them WAY too long in lower, but I doubt that)

Yeah we managed to keep the oil temp up there somehow; frying on a ceramic cooktop is a bitch, even with a turn of the century cast iron fry pot. I was more than pleased with the final product :)

9 times out of 10 it just the shit that settles in the bowl starts to clog the pick-up. Second would be that old gas turned to varnish and is gumming everything up. Always start with the simple stuff first.:)

I have all my vehicles and homeowners insurance through Farmers. The more things I insure, the better the deal. :)

There is no bowl on this mower. 9 times out of 10 if the carb has a primer bulb it is a direct feed carb with no storage device like a fuel bowl, otherwise it wouldn't need a primer bulb as fuel is already in the carburetor ;).

And to the OP, sounds like the diaphragm is screwed. Just get a kit for it and be done with it. The mower doesn't matter, what matters is the carburetor. The Scotts with the 5.6 hp briggs may have 2 or 3 different carbs. Some may be CA emissions, and some federal, etc.

well results from tonight carb is off and still off...

went to work on it and there is a fuel bowl, the float was stuck shut, because of the old gas that was left in the bowl when the mower was put up.

Carb Number: 214661 T (B&S)

found a 214700 diagram that is pretty damn close to this one.

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/briggs-and-stratton-214700-series-engine-parts-c-16758_17347_17375.html

Looking at page D, part number 106 Which is a rubber bushing of some sort, called a seat-inlet from the diagram.

This part was stuck and dry rotted, i proceeded to pull out the little pieces of rubber that were left. So tomorrow I plan to run to the autoparts store and see what they got.

Any of you guys have any experience with backpacking? I'm talking about 6-7 days on the trail with you and your backpack and travelling with enough water to last you 3-4 days at a time.

Going on a back packing trip over Christmas break and am going to need to get all the necessary supplies....

According to the data, women typically base their purchases on rear visibility, cost, front visibility, remote side mirrors and side air bags, in that order. Well, the last three are tied, but pretty much in that order.

And what about guys? Brace yourself for some life-altering revelations. According to CNW, styling, horsepower, engine design, front visibility and the vehicle's sound system are the top five priorities for men.

Duh!

My pack is supposed to weigh around 35 pounds total I think that may exceed it.

If it's any consolation we will be driving to the place in a ford excursion (7.3L diesel of course) with a sweet custom roof rack.

so we went to Wally World for a few things (I know, I know) and out of morbid curiosity I strolled through the meat and seafood section when I saw something. This has to be an isolated incident, I thought to myself. But then I saw it again...and again...and again. Turns out every steak, every chop, every roast, every piece of unprocessed, non-frozen beef, poultry, and pork in that store was marinated or brined in solution. Concentrations ranged from 5% all the way up to 20%. Disgusting.

Weird. Sams used to have the best meat. I really miss sams now that I switched to costco for some things. Costco is SO inconsistant on some items and the meat selection(read beef) is less that what I think is good.

Interesting. I have had exactly the opposite experience with Costco being a damn good place for meat.

OK, if I get the costco marked "prime" it's great. But the regular stuff is garbage IMO. Sams had a lot of prime cuts in stock every time I was in. All in the sealed bags. I can't even get a brisket with fat on it at costco. Just the super lean "flat". No rid roasts(bone or no bone). Smaller pork ribs. Costco is so dang hit or miss. I also like to have frozen scallops on hand. I know fresh is better but since I'm the only one in the house who likes them if I want them on a whim when just cooking for me it's great. The costco ones seam to be 20% or more smaller in size.

Maybe it's the oil spill. :shrugs:

I can't find the same cheese either. They rotate the sliced cheese so flipping often, and NEVER have munster. I <3 munster. It's the grilled cheese champ.

Weight of pack and what supplies do you need? I really like camelback products for water, but you have to ration when it's that far between. Water weight finds it's level of diminishing returns extremely fast for a guy on the trail. It should be cooler then also so you may have some margin that you normally wouldn't.

You will want an internal frame back pack and sleeping bag for starters. Do you need to bring your own personal tent or cooking gear? My pack weights about 6 lbs empty and my tent weights 7lb. my personal stove weights about a pound, and my mummy bag weight about a pound and a half. With food and supplys I have started out with 65lbs total before for a week journey.
