silly question: if a tire has a W or a Y rating, that automatically means its a Z rated tire, right

NO, it's whatever rating it is.

let me rephrase:

if a tire has a W or a Y rating, does that automatically means its at least as good as a Z rated tire in terms of performance?

Ok.... so My COP's all tested good. Right bank running rich, 33% over what it should be. I pulled the CEL code and it's misfire on cyl 1.

My usual tech thinks it's bad gasket I'm going to test with some starting spray on the gasket and check if I can suck some in to test it.

What really blows my mind is I threw in some techron fuel treatment and it cut my sputtering down by a ton! Still screws up at ~1800 rpm's and WOT/up hill.

WTF!!??!?!?

Oh and I need a new GEM from a leaking wind shield.

If you have an entire bank running rich/ lean, it's an O2 sensor, unless the gasket is deteriorated enough along the entire length. The computer will adjust injector pulse and timing for each individual cylinder on OBDII, so if it's not a gasket, change the O2 and/or check the wiring.

I'll check that out then. Thanks!

The gasket is not likely as I sprayed the hell out of some starter fluid around it and it didn't change the engine rev at idle, at 1800, or any RPM above. It's crazy how the fuel injector cleaner helped though. It was night and day.

I'll know more when I seal the wind shield, get the GEM replaced and can run some more tests. I might just try an 02 sensor for funsies.

I have to get new exhaust badly. EGR may be fouled too.

Next time you have the truck at the shop, see if your mechanic has a scanner that can datalog or record a movie and check the timing throughout the RPM range and in every gear.

Well duh.

If you have $150 that means you have at least $100 correct?

I might bring her into a dealership. I have had extremely bad luck with local shops and them wanting to do any diagnostics. They want to replace parts until they get it right.

I can do that my damn self.

just making sure; all of the the tires I'm looking at are W rated, its just that some are listed as xxx/yyRzz and others are xxx/yyZRzz

yes I'm a performance tire noob

:noob: :noob: :noob:

*goes back to truck tire land where its safe and familiar*

My buddy has a cheap radio shack meter so I put it in my truck yesterday. 103db full tilt on a rap song

And his Montero did 150db legal yesterday lolz

Radioshack legal

lol by legal I mean he actually was on a real mic. He just has the radio shack meter for shitzengiggles

"real" mic?

As far as I know the audio shop in town has a real setup and competitions on the reg. Never been there so I don't know there setup

I severely doubt they have a "real" mic. Not many people are willing to pay for what would truly be required to measure in a calibrated fashion and even if they do, they don't know how to use it.

I think he's talking about a Term Lab Sean. So it's not really a mic it's a sensor.

I'll do a bit more research. Duran sounds like he could be correct

They have either a Termlab or an Audiocontrol, since they are an audio shop and host events :)

Fixed your quote too :P

What motor is it ? PAP ?

Doesn't look like too many on the market because of the extra venting holes.

It's not on the market :P

There are vent holes running vertically on the top plate as well.
