Thats what I was thinking too. The Samsung is really nice too, but From what I've seen, Panasonic Plasmas are top notch quality. Seen maybe 1 or 2 in for service over the period I'vve worked at Audio Designs. And Panasonic Plasmas are without a doubt our best selling TVs.

It's a hard choice, but when compared to retail prices, it's a no brainer.

what I have heard is many problems with the samsungs.

Bah. Everyone I know has Samsungs and we all love them. I never see them in for repair at work, nor do I see any Panasonics. Mostly see LG, Sony, Vizio, and the cheap brands.

We have LG, Sony, and Samsungs, and I'd have to say I'm most happy with the LGs and Sonys.

Though, i do have to say the samsungs were bought first so they may just not have as much technology in them

The biggest selling point on the samsung for me is the RGB input. I watch some TVs on my laptop, and wouldn't mind watching it on a bigger screen.

roid use should just be decriminalized and allowed in sports.

might as well

More money and time is spent stopping the use even though it's rampant use is everywhere. It doesn't make sense, then goal is to put buts in seats. The more home runs the more TD's the more goals the better.

Look at football, the rules are changing every day to make the game far less about defense and more about offense.

Disagree. The two foot down rule for WR this year proves that.

I'm not going to lie. I don't follow football, but you're saying that the rules aren't in favor of offence and more TD's?

What is this new rule?

Offense rules were put into place recently, but this year they compensated to reduce the scoring. Both feet have to land in bounds to have it be a complete catch.

Also Sean and Ryan.................Kitchen knives...............what brands do you guys like best and why?

J

The ones that fit in your hands the best.

NEVER buy a knife set, they NEVER, EVER work best for you. Do buy something with real metal in them though. At least Wusthoff quality IMO.

on the subject of refrigerators and freezers: does anyone make a quality unit anymore?

Leibherr does.

Definitely not sub-zero

really??

:sad face:

Sub-zero quality is an oxymoron. Good product WHEN it works.

Todd, I too would shoot for the 54" Panny. I love my 46". Funny how pricing is though, mine is a 1080p, nearly 2 years old, and I only paid $800 for it. Almost that now.

I've seen some Samsungs in for service. The worst I see is LG. WE have had dozens upon Dozens of LG in for service. Along with all brands of DLP TVs. Garbage if you ask me.

Well that stinks. I just bought an LG LCD 6 months ago.

If it makes you feel better, most of the LG tvs I have seen in for service are plasma models from a couple years ago. hopefully things have changed since then. :)

No one normally buys Plasma back where I'm from, they won't work at any higher altitude.

That has always been the rule in the NFL for as long as I can remember. It's just in college where they only have to have one foot in. Again, unless you're talking about the push-out rule. But I don't remember if in years past they had to get just one foot in before being pushed out or what.

That's a hell of a deal, especially for 2 years ago! The 54 will be a little more. The more and more I've been thinking, the more sense it makes to go with the 54s1. :) And to seal the deal, I already found someone to buy my old rear projection!

15 Fabulous and Fantastic Facts About the Universe

Published by Anuradha Ramkumar in Science - January 3, 2010

How much do you know about our Solar System and the Milky Way? Many of you would have known the famous quote of Carl Sagan about Universe? Let us look at some fantastic facts about universe. I am sure these are fabulous facts about Universe and are really amazing.

Have you heard of this famous quote by Dr. Carl Sagan “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known”? This quote is very much true. How much you know about Universe? I thought I knew at least 50 to 60%, but I was wrong. I knew only 10% about Universe. I found a few fantastic facts about Universe and would like to share them with you. These are really fabulous and amazing facts. Let us get into the facts.

1. What happens if sun stops to shine suddenly? You will be able to realize that sun has stopped shining only after 8 minutes as the time duration for the light from the sun to reach the earth is 8 minutes.

2. Do you know how many stars our galaxy holds? Our galaxy has about 100,000,000,000 stars. Therefore, one can see roughly about 3,000 stars even on a clear night.

3. Did you see the Halley’s Comet in the year 1986? I think none of us who saw the Halley’s Comet in the year 1986 will be able to see it again as Halley’s Comet will be seen every 76 years.

4. If you are in moon, your weight will be 1/6th of the weight in earth. For example, if you weigh 50 kg in earth, your weight on moon would be 8.333 kg. Isn’t this a nice way to reduce our weight? Just kidding…

5. Did you know that the magnetic poles of sun switches every eleven days? This is referred to as “Solarmax.”

6. Take a wild guess on how many earth can fit inside sun, Jupiter and Saturn. Sun can hold 1 million earth, Jupiter can hold 1300 earth and Saturn can hold 800 earth; isn’t this fact incredible?

7. Every year moon moves 3 cm away from our earth.

8. In North Pole, it is not possible to see the sun for 186 days.

9. All planets in the solar system moves from east to west except Venus.

10. Jupiter has the fastest moon. It revolves Jupiter within a span of 7 hours.

11. The life expectancy of sun is 11 billion years.

12. Every 250 million years, sun and other planets of our solar system orbits around the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way.

13. It is found that Milky Way galaxy and Andromeda galaxy will collide roughly after 3 billion years.

14. Hottest planet of our solar system is Venus.

15. Brightest star that you would see during night is Sirius.
