I love my dacor, but it's a PITA to clean, and I wish I would have gone with a full 6 burner blue star comercialish cook top.

I remember why when I just checked their web site.... my cook top is in the island, and the good ones all have a backsplash.

They make Island trim for the Blue star.

KNobs don't pull off simply, hard to clean after cooking bacon etc. I had 2 or 3 over spills back to back cooking for halloween. The damn stainless is "bead blasted" to make it easir to clean. It helpes because you don't have to follow "grain". It seams to stick badly though. I got fed up scrubbing after getting it 90% there. Took 2 times scrubbing, and around the knobs is a PITA. When it's clean though not only is it gorgeous the knobs light up. Sounds stupid but a nice feature for simmer when you can't see the flame.

18,000 BTU burner isn't a slouch either.

In retrospect, I would get something more comercial oriented though, and less "pretty", or go with some bad ass induction top. I'm scared of the glass, and if I ever used non magnetic pans.

Thanks Matt. My pans are copper and worth more than the rangetop so induction isn't an option. I have similar knob issues with my current Thermador, but wanted to see if there was anything else. Did a bunch of reading on the sealed vs open burners and it seems that for neat freaks the sealed are better as they can be wiped down easily after each use while the open are better if they are all cast so that you basically don't do shit unless you have a major spill over. Cast looks greasy when seasoned and so should my rangetop.

Wow been a week since I've been in here.

2. Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)

3. Support for throwing women back into the Dark Ages, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

4. Support for anti-science bad craziness (see: creationism, climate change denialism, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, James Inhofe, etc.)

5. Support for homophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)

6. Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

8. A right-wing blogosphere that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech (see: Hot Air, Free Republic, Ace of Spades, etc.)

9. Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.)

10. Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)

And much, much more. The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff.
