Jack wouldn't know what to do with a girl in heat if he saw one. He's not even 2 yet, so he's probably still in the girls have cooties stage. He was the runt at the breeder and was going to be a show dog, but he is so submissive, she couldn't keep him with her stud dog. Okay gents.

I need a bookshelf DIY recomendation. I don't think the wife will let me put in towers in the living room unless they are spectacular to look at and have a small and not too tall foot print.

I have the 18" Q for low end anyway. She will use it to pound out music when she's in the mood so basically a strong mid bass for rock music. Probably used 95% of the time for TV/movie watching, but the reason for the upgrade is she wants to have better sounding louder music, and she hates watching action movies with the TV's crap speakers.

It will be backed up RIGHT against the wall, perhaps touching it. So forward vented or sealed?

Any sugestions?

Budget?

I really don't want that to be a limiting factor.

If I really had to come down to it? I doubt I would invest more than 300-400 for a pair for everything. That puts it in the realm of cost of the NHT classic 3's that I really liked(though extremely harsh IMO) and under some of the b & w's.

How big is too big?

I JUST talked her into "small" floor standers.

Either I have been a good husband and pleased the W, or the other shoe is dropping. Either way... I'll give max dimentions, but for right now she said. "smaller than your towers". I have the RC50 from energy (pre klipsh) which are deep as FOOK. I could go taller though.

The problem you are going to have is that they will be at least as wide no matter what since using a 6.5 makes sense. Then if it is floorstanding the height comes and depth = lfe.

IMO a sear burner is an accessory to a grill, not a repalcement. I wouldn't want one of those inside, but would love to have my actual grill in a covered porch.

They call it a grill, so I call it a grill. A grill for one or two perhaps but a grill nonetheless

Infrared charburner is what they call it and it is what it is. Good for getting a crust, but not so good for grilling. I have one as an accessory burner on my outdoor grill and love having it, but would hate only having it.

Ah Gotcha, sorry didn't know what you meant!

width is fine, so long as it's not deeper. I could probably get away with a 7.. maybe even 8" driver in width, it would be going deeper that would be a nono. Height is perfectly fine and could go taller if needed.

Oh no its not one of those infrared searing things; the one I'm talking about is an actual gas burner (or two, depending on the model) underneath the grill grate.

Agreed. I have an ex that it happened to. It really is a horrible thing for anyone to deal with. I think we could use Native American stump haning as a good punishment. Get's the point across rather well.
