the bad...nothing was done new to it, it was just a survivor, which would be great if he was asking a little less

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- A report on state educational standards shows many states are "setting the bar too low," U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan said Friday.

The National Center for Education Statistics compared data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress, given to samples of students across the country, and the tests required by the No Child Left Behind Act.

"Today's study confirms what we've known for a long time: States are setting the bar too low," Duncan said. "In all but a few cases, states aren't expecting students to meet NAEP's standard of proficiency. Far too many states are telling students that they are proficient when they actually are performing below NAEP's basic level."

Good ole No Child Left Behind...

One coat of primer on the bathroom. Should be dry to do another in about 5 minutes. I hate painting.

Maybe you mean #1, Jake Sharp. He's a little running back. Was running up the sideline and tried to do a little juke back to the inside but got caught squarely while in the air just a touch and got sent reeling. Banged his head on the turf a little and got up all woozy.

As for the QB, it's Todd Reesing. He's not really any worse than he has been the last couple years when he's been pretty amazing. It's just that the offensive line has taken quite a bit step backwards. They can't run the ball like they have been able to in the past, mainly due to bad O-line, which means teams can drop 8 into coverage easily. Then they still pressure Reesing even with only a 3 or 4 man rush.

As the final night wound down to a close I am thinking what is next. Maybe a little R&R. Not quite so, the wife was thrown a curve ball. She has a stress fracture in her shin bone or so the doctor thinks until the bonescan. So you never know what is truely next.

at first look I thought you had some Accuton goodness, but lloking closer revealed the truth

hey ryan, any love for the early broncos? I'm going tomorrow to look at a 66 I may buy.

I had one for a year. Beat the shit out of it. Great for that for sure. Road manners aren't exactly modern though.

Fuck yeah!

My grandfather had an old Bronco and a Scout. His neighbor had a first gen Suburban also. I'd love to have any one of those 3, or all 3.

I may get very lucky with this one, we shall see. It was listed in a local paper for $4000 with a new professionally rebuilt 5.0 (don't know about ford engines, just like the idea of new rather than old) and when I called the guy to ask about it he made it sound like an old beater and in this area that means treated like dog shit and not worth a penny. Anyway, my brother in law happened to drive past the vehicle and said from the road it looked absolutely fantastic except for a couple small spots and wouldn't need anything at all. Turns out my brother actually used to know this guy and just restores old vehicles, used to have two Power Wagons that he restored and showed all over the county, does beautiful work etc etc etc. I'm sure I can walk away with the vehicle for much less than he wants if it's the quality that i've been told this guy is capable of.

It's very easy to be a salesman when you truly believe what you are offering is the best.

but selling ISN'T about talking it is about listening. What you should say is that solution based selling is easy when you know what you are doing.

That's the only way I could do it.

I am not surprised, because I expect this. Sales people are the second least liked (behind lawyers) and it is because there are so many bad one. If you are a "product" sales person you fit into that category very easily. If you sell without doing any sort of needs analysis you fail IMO. Of course you'd really fail in what I do going about it that way. Exactly the reason our company doubled in size within my first two years. I forced everyone to change their habits although some still need a lot of my help, but now you know why I travel so much.

*not picking on either of you, as I said I expect it from pretty much everyone who isn't trained by someone who knows what's going on.

I got up to take care of Jack and get him breakfast and now he won't even get up to go take a crap. Lazy bastard.

Me the roomate the dog and the cats all passed out in the living room last night. The only woman in the house (my wife) was the only smart one and slept in the bed....... I thought maybe I could go lay in bed for a bit before prepping more food, but the cats took over my side of the bed. Fuckers. Can't move them or the wife will give birth to a cow.

Oh well. I'm up.

pork butt been smoking since 9pm, just developing a nice bark now. I just put some more chips in the egg(the only bitch I have about the egg is gettign chips in after you start your smoke. A SMALL brisket just got onto the smoker now also. Going to marinate some wings in a moment and then prep the ribs in a few hours.

Just about to light a fire to put a small butt on myself. Thank you for reminding me, I meant to do it late last night.
