The recession seems to be coming to a close. Good news.

The predictions over here is that it will still continue :(

At least for the second half of 09. But if things start moving along in the us, I hope they will start to move along everywhere.

No offense but I hope so. The dollar/euro needs to be much closer to 1 to 1 for things to really be okay here again.

Hopefully will get a chance to lay down some rubbing compound on the cars tomorrow to nail out a few small scratches on the truck and whack out the oxidation on the M. Then the for sale signs pop in.

I do still have to reinstall the stock stereo. It is all sorted and organized on the workbench, but it is sort of sad to do it as it is the sign that the car will soon no longer be mine.

I am going to be sad to see it go. Wish I had the fun money to take it. :)

Funny thing is that I am not. One of my favorite cars of all time, but I want something that I can beat the shit out of and it is too nice for that.

I know the feeling, that is why I rarely lay into the sled, but drove the living snit out of the civic ;) .

Oh wait, I did last week. $2 from a scratch-off.

taxes will probably hit you for 40% of that!

I need to hit the power ball too.

The way Obama is spending it may end up being closer to 80%. Socialism and the fall of the dollar here we come, and FAST.

I'm starting to save to move out of the country. Seriously.

Not sure you saw my post earlier in here, but I know of more then a few people who have moved or are in the process. Scary!

Poor Vikings. . . What are they gonna do without the interception man?

You think Travaris will throw less?

Even if he does, at least he has some athleticism to go after the guy. Who knows, maybe they'll court Vick next.

I am kinda rooting for him, I think he has potential to put up big numbers.

I hate to say it, but this place is starting to get flooded with idiots. Too many people who don't know what the fuck they are talking about, but they spew some big shit and the guy asking the question doesn't know right from wrong, so. . .

So you just gotta make him believe the right!

Very true.

Understatement, I stopped reading any and all threads related to subs. Outside of the hop this has me reading about 2 threads a day. Whenever I venture out of that domain I want to leave. Some days I think perhaps the level on crapshitfestaudio might now be surpassing here :(

Thoughts on actively removing posts that are flat out incorrect?

I find it very hard to believe, and to me the stock market is artificially inflated. Makes you wonder about the whole stimulus mess, barely any of the money (5% or so) has made it out to the people and yet the economy is fixed? I don't believe it.

Don't think we can. They're not voilating the TOS, so. . . It really doesn't matter anyways after you correct them, they still spew out what they read online or what they comprehended from what they read online.

Well I guess I should have been more specific. The recession isn't over yet, they're predicting late '09 or early '10 for the technical end of the recession, that being GDP change is positive. I was just commenting on the news being less negative. The analysts predicted a 1.5% drop in U.S. GDP for the 2nd quarter, it was only 1.1% as they reported today. Quite better than the 5.5% drop in the first quarter of this year.

i still dont really see how it will every be the same again.

With us raising the minimum wage, alot of company's have moved to foreign soil.

Ex: GM shutting down manufacturing facilities and moving them over seas

(good job government)

Historically the stock market begins its rebound 6 months before a recession officially ends, which fits with the late '09, early '10 forecast. I thought the market was inflated two weeks ago so I bought some short shares, and lost on that bet. Maybe I just didn't wait long enough, I'm not sure. But it seems hard to argue with the GDP numbers reported today. The stock market always jumps ahead of these things while unemployment always lags. But whether this really is one of those artificial highs, I don't know. Who does, though. I was definitely a pessimistic marketeer for the last 1.5 months, but the last two weeks have turned me more optimistic.

The company earnings reporting season that we're going through now beat estimates for the most part. Whether that was just due to cutting the workforce and making more profit that way, I'm not sure. I doubt sales actually went up that much. I guess we'll know a lot more in 3 months when 3rd quarter earnings come out. You can't have layoffs count for two quarters.

And MotherFucker

started working on the outboard boat motor today.

its an 87 evinrude 88hp SPL

So anyways i got to replace the hydraulic pump for the Trim/Tilt, and replace the water pump.

So i start working on replacing the hydraulic pump. The Starboard side goes just fine, but the port side is another story.

Port side:

2 broken off bolts

1 half way out and wont come out

FUCK

So tomorrow im going to drill the screws out, and replace them

hopefully it will go alot smoother.

Oh and before all this, I had to change the boat trailer tire cuz it was flat. I should of took the hint i guess
