I am continually reminded that the majority of people involved with car audio are the stupidest pieces of shit you'll ever meet

^^

the truth, i rarely try to bring up audio locally, cuz all they know is main stream crap

It has nothing to do with knowing such and such brand or even understanding advanced concepts. It's the general mentality I've found amongst most car audio people. They all seem to be stuck in some overly-aggressive, compensating, quasi-high school mentality.

They are all fucking napoleans

Saturday while moving some of the junk out of the rental I plowed my head into a low spot in the stairs causing my whole spine to compress. Then yesterday I thought it would be a grand idea to use the little air hammer to work on my pond to patch it. Then decided that I'm going to completely destroy the basin in our small pond and start over with new crete so I swung an 8 pound sledge 15 times or so.

My back doesn't feel so grand today. It's exasperated by the fact I work at a desk in a chair, so it's just making my back worse sitting.

Need new job bad.

(prays for wife to land new job with decent $$$)

I am a bit sore as well.

Detailed the M, the truck, the Audi, the motorcycle, my boat trailer, my mothers Taurus, and her new 500

too much wax on wax off. I didn't completely finish, the M still needs a nice rub down and some polish

also need to do the inside windows

and put the kicks, tweets, amp, and stock deck and associated trim back in the car.

The Audi and M should be up for sale yet this week. FINALLY.

Just reporting what I read:

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Porsche SE's controlling families will agree on Thursday to accept an offer by Volkswagen to buy its sports car business Porsche AG for roughly 8 billion euros ($11.28 billion), Der Spiegel reported on Saturday.

Germany's leading weekly magazine wrote that the rival Porsche and Piech clans, which own 100 percent of Porsche SE votes, will approve the two-stage takeover at a supervisory board meeting on July 23.

Volkswagen would purchase a 49.9 percent stake in Porsche AG and at a later date acquire the rest, in a deal that would create an integrated automotive group with 10 brands under the leadership of the Wolfsburg-based carmaker.

The sale would help Porsche SE pay off most of its debt, which two sources told Reuters has ballooned to considerably more than 10 billion euros.

Der Spiegel also said embattled Porsche SE and Porsche AG Chief Executive Wendelin Wiedeking is negotiating over a severance package that could total more than 100 million euros. In the meantime, production chief Michael Macht will replace him as head of Porsche AG, the magazine reported.

On Thursday, Wiedeking rejected speculation he was about to leave the group.

Asked on Saturday whether the two families have reached a decision for the July 23 board meeting, Porsche spokesman Anton Hunger said "we have not been informed of one," adding that the Spiegel report was speculation that the company would not comment on.

Separately rival German weekly magazine Focus reported that Volkswagen's powerful chairman and part-owner of Porsche, Ferdinand Piech, plans to remove Wiedeking on Thursday from the influential six-man steering committee on the VW supervisory board.

The vacancy could open up the opportunity for Piech's cousin and rival, Wolfgang Porsche, VW supervisory board member and Porsche SE chairman, to replace Wiedeking in the committee as a representative of his side of the family.

The grandfather of Wolfgang Porsche and Ferdinand Piech was Ferdinand Porsche, designer of the Beetle and founder of Volkswagen.

Weird. VW stock has been nuts, but thought Porsche bought a majority claim in them. I know I read that they did.

On 3 March 2008, Porsche set the stage for obtaining a majority stake in the Volkswagen Group. One day later Porsche sought to allay fears it would attempt to force a merger with Volkswagen Group.[24] By September, Porsche owned a 35.14% majority stake in Volkswagen Group, effectively giving it control over the company.[25] Volkswagen Group expected the move, and continues to welcome Porsche's investment.[26]

On 26 October 2008, Porsche announced its intent to raise its stake in Volkswagen Group to 75% during 2009.

On 7 January 2009, Porsche's holding in VWAG was raised to 50.76%.[27] Porsche's move automatically triggered a bid for Scania AB because VWAG already had a controlling position in the Swedish truckmaker.[28] As Porsche had no strategic interest in the company, on 19 January, they offered the minimum price in that mandatory takeover bid.[29] Porsche SE owned 50.8 percent of Volkswagen Group as of 5 January 2009, and has said it plans to lift the stake to 75 percent before the end of 2009, at that level they could bring VWAG's cash onto Porsche's books.[30]

In March 2009, Porsche SE is aiming for its first ever credit ratings from U.S. rating agencies Standard & Poor's and Moody's.[31]

In July 2009, however, partly due to financial problems, Volkswagen and Porsche reached an agreement, in which Volkswagen would acquire Porsche, instead of Porsche acquiring Volkswagen. The Porsche and Piëch families would have a 50% stake in the new Volkswagen Group (including Porsche), the other 50% stake would be for the German state of Niedersachen and for the country of Qatar, which already is a significant stakeholder in the Volkswagen Group. Volkswagen is said to be paying 8 billion euros for the deal [32]

So sayeth teh Wikipedia :lol2:

Mother just bought two more 34.5 oz. tubs of coffee, this makes five total plus another she is currently using. Her reasoning? It was on sale...and by buying it now and saving (hoarding?) it for later, it will save her money...

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I seriously question her sanity at times

At least I know for sure I am her real son though...insanity runs rampant in our family it seems

Then they should roast their own. Then you could add the word good to the requirements and it would still fit.

Went out and ate sushi last night. Holy crap it is quite tasty.

Just realizing that now?

Curious what did you have and like the best?

California roll tempora, spicy salmon roll, and a Kansas roll,

The California roll was best, followed by the Kansas roll, then the spicy salmon roll.

Any idea what was on the Kansas roll? Not a staple I have seen at other Japanese restaurants.

Don't know really. I know it had beef in it. I think it is specific to that restaurant. I had the woman do the ordering for me since she has worked there and knows what is good. Also had a chat with the owner who is a riot. She (the owner) also gave us her vip card to one of the bars so we didn't have to pay cover or anything when we went.

Having a girlfriend who is in good with the owner of a sushi place ftw.

Indeed. Knowing a fish monger is always a major benefit. In particular for fish that have to be flown in.

I do find it amusing that my colleagues in Orange County think it is funny that we eat ocean fish in MN. They always scoff that we are really far from the ocean. Easy retort on my part though as you just have to ask what fish they like to eat and where that fish was caught. Even funnier is asking them what is caught locally. They either state all sorts of flown in stuff or have no idea.

What kind do you typically eat sean?

I like Rainbow Roll (Cali roll topped with different fishes) and the Philadelphia Roll (Smoked salmon, avocado, cream cheese wrapped in rice). The GF likes the diablo maki. It have spicy crab, etc...

I pretty much like it all. Sort of a staple in my diet and nearly a once a week occurence. I typically prefer the nigiri or straight sashimi to the maki, but have no issues with rolls either. If I had to choose a fish that was my favorite probably Hamachi (yellowtail). Yum!

I missed all this sushi talk somehow. Nigiri FTMFW. I usually don't eat sashimi alone but it's enjoyable. I don't know if I could pick a favorite myself.

I didn't know you went out so often Sean. That would be great.

When I am on the road (and of course not on my bill :) ) I try to eat sushi for lunch as often as possible. One of the few things I can eat everyday and not get sick of it.

My "temporary" $20 table for the C4 has become somewhat permanent. It was only meant to last for a year, but I haven't bothered even planning a replacement. DOH
