TX Government at least gets shit done

may not be good, necessarily, but at least it gets done :P

How about California? Heard on the radio that they have amended their constitution like 550 times in their 130 year history.

Had three straight 11 hour outside work days at the beginning of the week, hence my absence (if anybody noticed). Tuesday was the killer, it was like 105 with at least 115 heat index because the humidity was so high (had rained that morning and did again that night). I got so hot it kinda made me nauseous and I didn't eat any supper. Well, it coulda been that or the pound of parmesan cheese that the lady put on my meatball marinara from Subway that I had for lunch. I don't know what she was thinking. It was like 1/2" thick on there. Pretty sure I lost about 5 pounds that day. Yesterday was about perfect, though, it only got up to 85 or so and was cloudy. But no work tomorrow, hooray for me. My new apartment place called and said I could come get the keys to my new place and move in whenever I want at no charge, even though my lease doesn't start until the first of August. Wicked. Maybe I'll go there and lay by the pool and check out the chicks. Hopefully they aren't all 60.

Their constitution is actually fake, just like the rest of the state.

I don't vote because I don't have faith in any politician. They are the problem. Nothing more than greedy business men to help other businessmen. All they are worried about is lining their pockets. The give not a shit about the country, nor the public unless they stand to gain something.

Fuck, I was hoping that was only the case in countries not so developed. This definately means there's no hope for us.

fuck cheap tools.

I've got 2 boxes to build and since dad is in the hospital I've got nobody to help cut mdf on the table saw. Which means I'm stuck with the cheap circular saw which sucks big time.

A bit frustrated but I'll try to come up with some wings for the table saw. Just need to get some rough cuts, 1/4" wasted isn't a big problem...getting everything cut is the problem.

Worldwide problem; however, I will add that taking the approach to not vote promotes it further. The more people that voice their concern and vote for who they want to the better.

I agree that not voting will promote that. There was a very low percent of people who voted in the recent euro-parliament elections. I personally feel bad for not voting even though it makes me sick to see the candidates.

Over here the was a huge scandal with the president's daughter (a complete worthless pile, can't even say 2 phrases) who got elected and used public money for the campain. The press discovered the whole deal. Even though she ran as an independent, there was a party who voted for her on order from the president.

The minister who hid the fact that she used public money ultimatey resigned and the president, who kept quiet since the scandal started, began to throw accusations left and right.

Sad part is the majority of the voters are plain old stupid and will keep voting for him. I'd rather chop off a finger than vote for the current president.

Time to dick around with the circular saw, seems it deviates 3mm over 720mm with a guide. Slight correction and I can start cutting away...

My to-do list SUCKS.

what is on the menue?

I have basically curbed all projects untill after I can get some exercize in everyday. I let my health run get away from me.

Much of what was bothering me earlier is now finished.

I had to plan trips to:

Houston

Seattle

Vancouver

LA

Detroit

Indiana

Ohio

Wisconsin

Japan

SE Asia

Had to write a semester report and summary of the business planning meeting we held last week

Had to put together a data report ~70 worksheets for a customer to prove our tool does what he needs based on some testing we did and deliver it to Japan

Had to:

Get haircut

Return tile

Buy boat oil

Mail back defective Squeezebox

UPS back defective PIM

Brainstorm a complex customer solution for a $2M deal

Place an order with a partner

Follow up on my sales teams plans for the next 2 months & review their forecasts

Request some inofmration on a few different technical matters from Germany (HQ)

Still left:

Various work BS

-Personal-

Get the police report from the theft on my boat

Finish the insurance paperwork

Put the stock stereo back in the M5

Clean the raccoon shit out fo the garage and make sure everything is okay, or file for insurance

Silicone a toilet

Buy trim for the bathroom windows/doors, stain, install

Design the bathroom sink base

Buy wood for said base

Build a mold to pour a concrete sink for the base

Learn how to pour concrete countertops

Order a gasket for the viking grill and a new thermometer (or you know what instead :) )

Build a shelf for our entryway

Alter a cabinet in the kitchen to house a microwave

Buy a microwave (haven't had one in 7 years or so)

Write some thank you's for baby gifts

Sell the Audi, The M, the truck, and my motorcycle -- regrettably all need a showfloor clean right now too

Buy a baby gift for a friend of mine

Buy a ticket to go redfishing in SC

Get a HELOC in case shit hits the fan

Download album art

get a new wireless router

change all the outlets in my house

Get the squeezebox working with CQC -- maybe tonight if I get energetic

and some other shit.

Sort of a normal list for me though, I guess you could say that I am goal oriented lol

I was kinda thinking about painting the living room... But I don't want to over do it.

:)

Your work sounds like something I would enjoy. That kind of problem solving is fun to me.

Sean, the next victim of karoshi...

My life has ALWAYS been like this. I don't know any better, perhaps I am so ADD that I need something to focus on.

*where the hell do you come up with all of these unusual terms

Business and Business Management has been my academic focus for the past 5 years; you can't imagine all the weird shit you learn along the way...everything from Sun Tzu & Machiavelli & Adam Smith to Bill Gates & Sam Walton to Enron & WorldCom & Tyco...

Pfft,

you are just Nihon Otaku!

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

More died in the floods?

AN AMERICAN company has been forced to apologise after using a picture of murdered honeymooners Ben and Catherine Mullany in an online advertising campaign.

An image of the couple, who were shot dead in Antigua last summer, was used by the US firm MyDishBiz alongside in an area of its website featuring testimonials from satisfied customers.

The company last night apologised to the couple’s family, and said it had “not knowingly included the picture” on its site.

Weird. What were they customers of, or is that the point, the company just jacked a random net picture and put up fake info?

The majority of people are stupid, no surprise.

I feel it's got to be somewhere in the 90th percentile. I never had such a grim outlook, but so many people are dumb. Deaf and blind in every way that counts. And they see too much, say too much, and hear too much about the crap that doesn't matter.

Idocracy is on it's way. That or a global socialist group which is more likely.

Found out, here in MD we are paying 2 to 3 times the amount per kilowatt then all the surrounding states.

About how much more than PA? I am trying to talk my wife into moveing out of PA.

I believe we are paying 12.8-13.1/KWH compared to 4.5-5.2/kwh in the surrounding states. :(
