since we're on the subject of hormones, atomoxetine is a wonderful drug....

good old modonofil, or aderol I say!

heart palpitations ftl

Spelling > me.....

Eh.... what dose? I have virtualy no side effects from stimulants really. I'm "lucky" in that way?

Depressants or more precisely antidepressants that work as depressants make me retarded on the smallest dose.

There's a reason that Ritalin and Adderall have the same US legal classification as Seconal, codeine, morphine, opium, methadone, oxycodone, pentobarbital, hydromorphone, hydrocodone, and PCP :lol2:

Yep! The FDA is retarded in 99% of what they do. Aderall maybe, and that's a big maybe.

Provigil, while I don't think it's the god drug it's made out to be, is a different ballgame.

Eithgerway the FDA are a lieing idiotic sack of shit bags in 99% of the case.

no matter what ADHD meds you take you're going to get an elevated heart rate and blood pressure, Strattera's elevation level however is a lot easier to manage on a routine basis than either Ritalin or Adderall (from my experience).

I can see how that would be appealing. I have high BP.

taking Ritalin (and later Adderall) felt more like taking recreational drugs than medical drugs. Take them, brace for warp speed, try to maintain some sibilance of normality while riding out the intense high, then crash and burn when it wears off.

buproprion is amazing I think.

A really good drug at what it does, but it's fussy. But don't mix it with ANYTHING. No coffee, no booze. Nothing. At least with my chemistry it does not work well.

It also made me forget to eat, and be full sooner when taking it. This would suck if your small. I'm a huge fatty so I thought that was an interesting side effect. I however live by the eat to loose philosophy so I had to set alarm clocks to remind myself it's time for a protein shake etc.

Going to apply for a job as a programmer and I have a question about writing the resume :

Considering I have zero work experience in the field, is it ok to add any other work experience ?

Only place I worked was on constructio sites, on backhoe loader :peepwall:

The way it works on your doesn't sound like a classic ADHD response. Most amphetamines really slow down people with ADHD. This is just what I have found to be true from my friends, and the kids at the "bad kid school" that I worked at.

ADD may be different. Not sure.

No I meant literally, there is a reason. They (Ritalin especially) are just legalized speed balls....

it has nothing to do with the government, it has to do with very smart people working for drug companies with great ideas on how to avoid losing license(for the life of me i can't think of the word used to describe their exclusive legal rights) for a drug. Adderall was a great idea to simply reclassify a drug that had already lost its patent (there's the word) because it had a different conformation IIRC (may have even just been an isomer)

it's our fault for having "loopholes" in the law and actually letting people find them and use them.

Thank you!

You put down what I was thinking.

Damn conspiracies. All of thems is socialist banditos, IMHO.

I was more referancing to the fact the schuduling act is a peice of garbage for how it penalises the citizen, but yes you have made a verry true statement that is the reason it then affects the citizen so much.

the wifey got me a black "ceramic" wedding band. Anyone know anything about them?

All new stuff to me.

I hope it's not brittle and prone to chipping. It was cheep at least.

Hers however is a multi diamond white gold band.

cheep ring > 'spencive ring IMHO

However, I think I might end up with a tungsten carbide ring if they truely are as scratch resistant as they say. My titanium one is showing signs of wear.

Anyone have their appendix removed? If so, how long do I have to wait to bust a nut?

What size fuse do you have??

Really, I would say wait a week or 2 for a BJ where you don't move. 3-4 weeks before you do any of the work.

The man hammer is attached to the abdomen inside, so just be carefull.

Small fuse. :fing34:

Less is more, and I wasn't planning on doing any of the work.

what kind of $$ are you looking to spend? when i built the sisters' computer i think i had about $1200 in it and it was actually quite badass even though it's no longer working just like every other piece of electronic equipment she's ever had

I just need a proc, m-board, ram & video card. No real price point as I could spend whatever, but as with all PC stuff there is a logical threshold. Normally I buy the generation that just got knocked out by the latest so that you don't take the depreciation hit when a new chip comes out.

I'd like to pick a socket that will stick around for a while if that is possible since last time I bought a 754 which allows no growth.

A bonus would be to have an AGP and some PCI slots on the M-board, but I am willing to forego my current add-on cards if it makes more sense.

In bold is his usual credo.

PM you in a moment.

Got the PM, thank you. I'll call him tomorrow as I have three more mini-conferences and then off for some Sushi :)

i don't know about which are the newest socket styles but i used 775 with the sis's actually here's the rundown

GIGABYTE GA-G33M-S2L LGA 775 Intel G33 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - absolutely loved this board for $95, though if I was building it again I'd probably spend more here. The gigabyte was flawless in function and decent overclocking abilities. The down side was "only" 8gig of ram supported (4x2gig) and apparently it can be finicky with the quad core processors.

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - this is the ram i used, absolutely fantastic for the limited time i used it, even put this ram in my niece's comp because I liked it so much and hers is still running fine. ($170 total)

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 - went with a dual-core as I wasn't impressed with the performance/$ of the quad cores, they were too new at the time and haven't checked the pricing lately. ($195)

EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - i would hump this card....that is all ($150)

that's just a rundown for example, i ran call of duty 4 on her setup and it never ever gave me any issues, i still miss that damn computer actually, it ran cold as fuck too.

btw the missing $$ from the $1200 to make her computer was all the accessories that she wanted as well as a full OS which i got lucky and got for cheap cheap

Pay for OS? Anyone know how many pc's you can put XP on and still have it be "verified"?

Hmm, I need 4 more serial ports and a couple more DVI outputs on my pc. Considering, I am thinking of building a new PC altogether. Since I built mine a long time ago I am no longer up to speed on what is available and want to skip the re-learning curve. I know for my needs (internet and home automation) that I don't need much of a PC in particular since I will never game, but I'd like something that will last me a while even if I have to upgrade my operating system *pukes*. Any new sites that outline/test the differences between different proc's from AMD/Intel?

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/

For longevity/upgradeable I'd go with Intels i7 platform, AMD hasn't really caught up yet. I believe Mark recently built an i7 platform also. And you computer is not that old, I'm still running on a socket A platform. :suicide-santa:

In my reviews of things Tom's seems to be biased and for the wrong reasons, but again old info here.
