The market is artificially up. Spending money we don't have will do that.

That's what I've been trying to figure out as well. Trying to decide when the market will go back down and if I should wait until then to invest more. Or if I should take some profits from what I have gained. I'm just past the 90 days capital gains tax increase. But I also promised myself that I'd leave it in there long-term. I know the companies I've invested in are solid. Must resist the urge. I don't want to become a short-term trader. I don't like day traders and the like, too much market manipulation with that IMO. I just want to get out when the price is highest, so maybe I could invest the money in something else that's just starting its upswing or something. But that kind of timing is pretty impossible.

i've heard good things about investing in led tech firms and crude oil futures. :fing34:

I have a moral dilemma in investing in oil, though, since speculation that the price would go up and heavy investing in such is what caused last summer's bubble, and I don't want to be a part of that happening again. I would invest in companies that profit from the oil price being higher, though, since it's not their "fault" that the price is high.

DO you guys know what would be the proper size tubing to use to build the mini bike?

Depends on what you are going to use, mild steel, chrome moly or what.

Invest now, and invest LONG TERM.

sitck with companies that are huge and you will probbably be fine. Or go mutual funds. IRA traditional or roth are the right way to go if your company does not have 401/k or 403/b

That seems like a good idea. Although part of me wants to invest in small cap because those have historically been the companies that bounce back the most after these setbacks. But the odds are higher because you can't be sure that the company will withstand the downturn, though.

Just got back from the competition. Managed a 138.1 with 750w, on music, engine off :)

Overall pleased, since I took 4th place to : 2 15's on 9000w, 1 15 on over 10000w and 2 15's on ~12000w. Last one scored 140.7.

Sucks that I tested the tracks at home on mp3's ripped by the organisers (probably normalized and with a bit of gain) and peaked over 140 on all the tracks but during the competition we had to use the original cd.

Some of the "professionals" on here and the remarks they make. . . .

That professional in particular is a fucking idiot and shouldn't have a section here. :(

The whole thing with investments is that it is now normalized. Without insider information or riding the lucky roller coaster, don't expect big gains to return. Although slow and steady is truly more than fine and exactly what this country need.s
