He's got an '08. I don't like the 2010s. . . . Yet.

Funny thing is, I haven't like any of them since the 94 change, but eventually they all grew on me. I still like my body style the best though.

Every review or article I have read on the 2010's say they addressed any and all complaints with the 2008, especially handling and interior.

it looked much btter in person at the car show than in the pics I have seen. I couldn't look inside well really

I was massively impressed with the new taurus. It looks GREAT compaired to most cars in that scale and range of cost.

There are expected to be two types of KERS systems in use next year: battery and flywheel.

The battery system seems set to be the more popular method. It harnesses the braking energy by storing it in super-capacitor batteries which then release power to the driven wheels when required.

The flywheel method looks set to be used by Williams (and possibly Honda and/or Toyota). Here the braking energy is used to turn a flywheel and when extra power is needed the wheels are coupled up to the spinning flywheel to give a boost in power.

Initially, the regulations limit the power of the KERS systems to 60kw (around 80 horsepower) and the storage capacity of the energy is 400kJ (kilojoules) per lap. What in effect this means is an extra 80 horsepower available for 6.7s per lap.

The idea is not only to force F1 to develop green technology but also to help overtaking. A chasing driver could deploy his KERS device as he is catching the car ahead to give him an acceleration boost.

Of course the driver being chased can use his KERS device defensively at the same time, thus negating the chasing driver

So I went to Lowe's yesterday to buy 2 sheets of MDF. I had previously bought some there and had them cut to size (for my HT sub) and it worked out great. So I go up yesterday and have this guy cut all the sheets into what I needed them to fit in my family van. He gets everything cut and I head home, and then over to my buddies farm to help him work a bit there. Well just a few minutes ago I unpack the van and go down stairs to start cutting them down to length as they were supposedly cut to width already. I have this big pile of MDF down there so I'm measuring through to see which ones I need. Come to find out that EVERY SINGLE PIECE that they cut for me is wrong. He did say it may not be completely, perfectly square, but nothing about it cutting WAY off. They range from 1/4" off to 1.5" off?!

So I call Lowes and talk to the manager who freaks out on me about "it's not meant to cut accurately!!!!11!" Well it sure did last time. So now I need to get a hold of my buddy, get the receipt, carry a million cuts of MDF to my car, take it back and figure out how to get 2 full sheets of MDF home now. Sigh.

It was funny as hell, I got pointed out to her by her (very cute) friend from across the damn party. I heard her say to her in a not so quiet voice "Oh look, hes a cowboy, you looovvvveee cowboys". Now keep in mind I always wear boots, either work or cowboy style, and I was wearing a long sleeved pearl snap shirt because its friggin cold out and its the only kind of long sleeve I have. I will be the first to say, I am not a cowboy, I just grew up on a farm and there is a difference.

So she came up and introduced herself and started talking and what not, she was halfway (notice only halfway) intelligent, kinda cute, and seemed easy as hell. If I was single I would put a 100$ on it that I could have had her in the sack in under an hour from when she introduced herself.

Then just a min or two into the conversation (she wanted my nuts from the get go, I was impressed at her drive), made a clear opening for me to insert I have a beautiful gf statement and am happy with her, then it turned into "Nice to meet you I have to go", then I saw her burying her face in her hand to her friend in her embarrassment.

I got a good laugh out of it anyway. :)

I should point out that you are in college and well it is the time to play...

What happened to your laptop?

Actually a number of things at once. The plastic surrounding the tip of the power cord melted due to the laptop running really hot for some unknown reason, making the cord extremely difficult to push in or take out. Also, some catastrophic HD failure where it will not start up past the Windows XP loading screen.

I think they claim 1/4"

The key though is to have them set the saw and never move it. Only choose to have them cut one dimension and make it one that isn't so critical that a 1/2" off wouldn't kill you.

I always ask the shop to cut a full sheet of mdf in pieces as big as I can put in the car. Not the best option but atleast I'm not woried about bad cuts.

Well, I'm just going to return all the cut wood and get two fresh sheets. Guess I'll just stick to cutting it myself. I just have a hard time cutting with the saw I have by myself. Just have to wait for a weekend when my box building buddy comes home! Also, Sean, I'm taking a compass out to school today and will get those rings made out. First thing when it's nice out I'll get some pictures.

I think they had disabled the traction control button and it was stuck on though. I couldn't get off the line for anything.

This is a custom kit vehicle with a chev block in it.

I think it's set up pretty well, around the 550 HP mark I think.... After this guy is done he will probably have more into this kit than it would take to buy the real deal.

I helped with making the body panels match up, and endless hours of building up and sanding.

3388318313_e45ef651e2.jpg?v=0

there was waaaaay to much work into this IMHO, but it will probably end up faster than the car it's trying to imitate. Not my bag of chips, but it's still pretty cool. I didn't fit in it *without* the seats in it though, so not quite my idea of luxury.

I think this ended up being painted a nice red. It was acually running at the time we worked on this also.

I'm pic whoring, Tom is out there somewhere with ears burning.

Anywho, here is the daily driver. Needs some shock work I think. It feels soft.
