I love my .17HMR, don't have a thing to complain about it (CZ-452). It works fantastic on small game, and is pretty dang accurate.

I really want to buy a new gun but can't decide WTF I want.

right now i'm really wanting about 4 different purposes

1. I want a lever action gun. No real rhyme or reason here, i've just never owned one so I want to try one out, not sure on caliber. My head says go .22 so i can plink for cheap, but I already have .22 pistols. My gut says go with the .357mag as it'd be way more fun although more expensive (it'll feed .38 just fine). No long range accuracy but I rarely shoot over 50yards at the range, and this would definitely be a purely range gun.

2. I want a .17HMR damn it. Been wanting one of these for a while. Contemplated getting the golden boy in .17 and solving #1 and 2 at the same time, but not sure if i can put a scope on the golden boy.

3. I want a long distance gun. Something 200-400 yards probably. This wouldn't be shot much and would be in the distant future so i can afford the proper optics.

4. Want an assault rifle. Was debating an AK but they seem to be way overpriced now and I may as well spend a little more and get an AR. But even the ARs are impossible to find right now, so this will be put on the back burner.

oddly enough not looking for a pistol right now for the first time ever, unless i find a unica.

I think the .357 is a good idea too, i run .38 spl fmj's through my .357 revolver all the time with no issues. they're really cheap and i always find them on sale, along with a lot of 12ga buckshot lately. i've been looking for a distance gun too, i'd really like to actually learn to 'shoot.' there's a custom ammunition manufacturer in town and i order my guns from them for pretty cheap. the owner recommended ruger to me, I was looking into something like this for range:

lol^

i only like tomatoes on burgers and in my pico da gayo

Tomatoes are one of the reason I hate winter. Good tomatoes are the ones which grow outside. The ones from greenhouses are tasteless.

At least that's the way it goes here.

it's the exact same here but it's hard to find good tomatoes. I love tomatoes but refuse to eat just about any that don't come from a garden.

There still are plenty of people that grow tomatoes in their own garden over here. I hope it will stay like it for as long as possible. European legislation is trying to keep people away from "unhygienic" foods.

Planning to get a small fence up in the back yard and grow a few tomatoes in my back yard :D

The fence is to try and keep the dog from destroying the tomatoes :peepwall:

Yes, you can put a scope on a Henry Golden Boy, its a cantilever design, yes you should get one in .17HMR.

For the longer distance gun, I'd go for a Ruger M77 MKII target model.

I didn't even look over the golden boy well. Just saw the price tag and realized i need to do more HW before walking out of the store with it. If it'll hold a scope that may very well be the way i go. I love the stocks on the savage .17s though. Nice wood and the thumbhole stock really sell me, but something about the lever action is more appealing.

I really wish it was a silver boy instead of a golden boy though.

Once again, completely different when I am helping answer a question or finding a solution that has already be answered here, compared to just plain telling people to go to another site. In addition, I am not going to copy and paste information that people other then myself have posted, so a link would be posted regardless to cite the source.

One is clearly beneficial and supports the topic on the original forum, the other is not. We can keep going in circles on this, but the difference is very clear.

While I agree there is a difference, it's not great enough to warrant the deletion of one kind and not the other.

Why's it a big deal if someone else recommends another site though? If you were truly confident in the quality of this site, you'd have no worries.

Nothing was deleted, only one post was moved to a place where it could be discussed. I have no worries on the quality of the site, that is and has never been in question, what was is the intent of a user to purposely try to make members leave with them. In addition, there is no issue with suggesting another site when the other site has information needed that is not supplied on the current forum, or has features not available, etc.

Deleted and moved to a "Topics under review" section are basically the same thing. Both remove the post from the public's eye.

Who said anyone was trying to make people leave this site? It's not as though a person can't be members of two forums. And other places can offer things that SSA currently does not.

The intent was clear, and the last sentence of my prior post answers your last two sentences quite well.

So you say "there is no issue with suggesting another site when the other site has information needed that is not supplied on the current forum, or has features not available, etc." answers "It's not as though a person can't be members of two forums. And other places can offer things that SSA currently does not." So why delete the post?

And the intent was not clear that he was telling people to leave here, that was an (incorrect) assumption on your part.

Again, the post was only moved and can always be moved back, and it was not in reference to something SSA does not offer. So yes it answers the questions, as I said; there is no issue ^^^

And with recent mentality, prior threatening to leave, leaving for a while, only to return with a poor attitude, the intent was very clear (which was further backed up by facebook messages, and the childish reaction afterwards to the moved post). Which still leaves my action to move the post correct.

Saying it can be moved back means nothing, it was removed. Actually, it was in reference to something SSA does not currently offer.

That intent was only clear to someone looking for that intent. And in regards to Facebook, Jim sent NO message to either me nor Ryan2. We were the ones that left the initial wall posts, and NONE of Jim's responses were telling us to leave SSA.

I'm really torn as to what to do for the sub in the HT. I can do multiple 5 cf enclosures and just place them around the room, or do a huge up to 230 cf box in the front of the room and have the subs "fire" from under the screen. I only have 24 inches from the floor to the bottom of the screen....

not sure what moofers to use. 18's would be the logical choice. I started a thread on AVS, and now I have more questions lol.

Tom, I am flat sick of discussing this with you. You are trying to make a point that is not there with generalizations that do not work. I have and had no reason to go looking for intent, I explained it to you pretty damn clearly.

And now you are telling me SSA does not offer a place for pictures. Wow, this is not worth another post, you are only going to believe what you want to believe. I am so beyond tired of the drama, not discussing this any further, not worth my time.

So now we can't have an intelligent discussion about the state of this forum? I have my beliefs, which I know are different from yours, but I can see where you're coming from. All I've been trying to do is get you to see this from another perspective which would allow you to understand the issues people have been having with this site. Instead of simply leaving, this is my attempt to better the forum.

Who said anything about pictures? What SSA currently does not offer is a tight-knit group of responsible, intelligent enthusiasts with an admin(s) who shares the same goal.

Good thing I wasn't planning on competing in MECA SQ, looks like I would be placed in Modex class for having that DCX2496 unit and my Fostex in the dash.
