gas at cheapest is 3.29 here. there's stations with premium at/over $4 /gal, so damn expensive with all the crap additives this state requires.

i find it amazing how much my hearing changes throughout the day.

the other day the gf was in my bedroom all day while i was at school. I get home and she's borderline frantic/pissed because there's "a sound" in my room. I couldn't hear it at all, not even a hint. Well eventually she targets the printer/scanner combo, apparently it was emitting a high frequency sound. Well, last night at about 2am i heard the shit for the first time. I've had that printer for years and never heard that sound.

I really notice the difference in the mornings when listening to the stock crossfire system, it's fucking brutal.

That's not the first time I've heard of that. Sucks that women do have better high frequency hearing than we do

Test your ears at the highest frequency you can hear with a sine tone, then go drive 1mi with your windows down and do it again right away. You will be surprised at the required intensity and also that your highest frequency drops significantly.

What happened? After that last hurricane in Texas, I thought we didn't have the reserves for supply and demand at the time due to refineries being shut down, thus the rise in gasoline costs. Now after a short time after the fact, some areas are selling gas for sub $2.00 a gallon? I don't get it. Are they giving us a break due to the economy being at a weak point? What gives? I'm convinced that these prices wont last very long, so be prepared for it to shoot back up soon

This is the reasoning I've heard, as best as I can remember

The price of oil barrels is based on future predictions as to supply and demand. The gas at the pump was originally purchased in crude barrel form some time before (I don't know how long exactly, a few weeks?). Anyway, since our economy tanked, everyone else's did as well which caused India and Chine to cut back development a bunch. This removes a future demand of the oil so now it's worth less.

Indeed, economic scenariodoesn't really affect our usage but it really does theirs

I just moved the SPL vs SQ thread into the Round Table section. Mostly to make sure we discuss it. If as a team we decide together it is okay to be put back I will be fine, but considering the disgusting misuse of terms on this forum I want to do everything that we can to discourage it. Discussion here and there or wherever is fine, but I am a firm believer we should address this and talk about it.

I am putting this here as well for those who can't see that I did this elsewhere. Let's discuss.

Didn't catch any rainbow trout last night . I'm so sad, I have been looking forward to that for MONTHS. had a few bites, but the way they were nibbling it was probably just some bluegill. Maybe they have all been fished out, since they only put 750 pounds of fish in two weeks ago. Might try again tomorrow.

the gas shortage was a lie. Only a couple of the 170 or so refineries in this country shut down for a day or two. If that little hiccup affects the whole country that much, we seriously need to work on things. But it doesn't as much as the media portrays.

North Carolina/south carolina/other states in that area charge more state taxes on gas than other states. That's why prices are higher over there.

I was under the impression that California takes in the most taxes for gasoline? Its still above $3.00 a gallon here. They oxygenate the fuel during the summer months, and other additives throughout the year. Damn extreme emissions regulations. At least on the east coast, they still have 93 octane at the pump. We only have 91 for super.

Been working all day moving rail road ties for the boss with the other two guys from the shop. Suceeded in smashing the shit out of my finger, slightly swollen still, hurts to move, put force on, etc, etc. 200lb+ ties cause some damage. He had a bunch of ties surround flower beds and what not that we replaced, put in new ones, leveled, trimmed up, etc...

Made cash beer money for the week though.

they put all kinds of crazy crap in our gas, i don't care to know about it because there's no alternative anyways, unless i want to drive to nevada to tank up. we got damn good trout fishing here, you find goldens in the high sierra lakes, that's a trippy lookin fish.
