I'm really thinking about getting a WD 640GB drive in the coming months. I can't fill that past what my ratio would allow at the moment, and they're just going to come out with bigger drives based on the ~330GB platters anyway. Seagate is pushing their platters as it is, I can't imagine a 4 platter 1TB is going to be that quiet.

If he raises taxes for people/companies only making over $250,000 whats going to happen? The companies are going to pass their losses on to the lesser people which means the people that make less than 250k will feel the tax.

That may be true and it may not. One good thing about our society is that if companies raise prices to make up for losses, people will find the product cheaper from another company, perhaps a smaller, start-up type place. Or mom and pop shop. Which that would be good for us. But if the big company has a large market share or near monopoly that probably wouldn't happen. People would just bitch and moan about it.

But really I think it's a decent idea. People who make that much money deserve it, IMO. Are they working a lot harder than you/me to earn 100 times the pay? In 99% of cases, no. But for companies I think it's tough. We don't want to penalize those that expand and grow because that's what the market is all about. But then it's those companies that make that much just by having a huge market share or what have you and gouge the consumer that I hate.

I have this thing about always seeing situations from both sides and hardly ever being able to decide which is better. It's a curse.

I disagree ...

First, it's not even available in Canada. Second, it's a TN panel and, given that this is seeing a multitude of uses, including colour critical work, and will be viewed from a variety of different angles, a TN panel is absolutely unacceptable due to its inferior colour reproduction and poor viewing angles. Third, I picked the Ultrasharp 2408WFP up for the same price. Fourth, I already have 2 HDTV/monitors and the last thing I need is a third, especially since I tend to have something on via picture-in-picture and end up not getting any work done. Fifth, it has a built-in USB hub and card reader (which the T240HD doesn't have), 2 things I desperately need on my computer. You'd think having 10 USB ports on the motherboard/case would be enough, but you'd be wrong ... I have zero free ports as of typing this ...

Didn't realize it was a TN (thought I read 176x176) and I hate Dell (nearly as much as Apple) so I made a quick judgement.

Well what I want is to be able to pull quite a few ounces a day. I would probably use it daily. Some days several times. I would also assume the folks I live with would like to have some too. I'm not really sure what I should expect to spend 1,000, 700, 500?

I am learning that the grinder is the one thing you cannot skimp on.

How easy to use?

The Rancilio Silvia is a good budget machine, but really benefits from a grinder like the Macap Stepless. Near $1k for the combo.

so went to the claims adjuster and they said i might have enough damage to the car to total it....

if that happens i will get the money from insurance and just buy the car back for salvage value, and probably make a grand or so

but in general i hate hearing those words "ur car maybe totaled"

It is always best to tax the motivated people as well. We are better off if no one in this country is motivated to do better, that way we can all be the same.

250k is way too low. Go out and survey what small businesses make and really hard working individuals. When you put your heart and soul into something versus someone who glides by you shouldn't have to pay a tax penalty. These are NOT the people we want to demotivate. The end result will be that everyone suffers as all goods will end up coming from overseas someplace if we demotivate the wrong sector.

one pretty large dent in roof along with small dents from pinecones

scratches(from shingles)

little on the hood, roof, and both passenger windows

he also claimed all the molding and seals around the windows.

just looked up what my car is going for i would give my car a pretty much clean condition before the strom, and it only has 65k on it

edmonds has it listed for $4500 for a private party

the only thing i reall want fixed is the roof and the passenger window, but mainly the roof and i would be plenty happy
