Not sure this guy has ever been laid...

That is not a skill that chicks want. They want nunchaku skills or computer hacking skills.

So you got exhaust done on the truck, got that fixed, now you've got a NEW exhaust setup on it?

Pretty much... Exactly

Story is so long its got chapters :D

Exhaust #1

"The First Mistake"

Got the Gibson exhaust, the guys F'ed up installing it and it looked and leaked like shit. Took it to another shop and asked them to weld everything tight and they recommended just going with a new system since this system hung low and hand some problems with pipes rattling together and I really wasn't happy with the highway resonance anyway

*Warning* this is the beginning of the story where I will have 4 different after market exhaust in a matter of 24 hours...

Exhaust #2,

"The Big 'Fix' "

True dual 2.5 with 12" dynomax bullets no x/h pipe. Had it on my old silverado (single 3", no cat) and liked it so I was excited. It was the loudest f'n exhaust I had ever heard. Nasty crackle at anything over 2K (sounded like I was slapping pistions). was actually quiet cruising and screamed like a scalded ape at WOT, but the crackle had to go so I took it back to the shop. Guy at the shop told me it was the loudest system he had ever heard on a truck as well and knew I would be back.

Exhaust #3

"Same Shit Same Day"

So I asked for and h pipe and they said that things were so close an h pipe was really out of the questions so the recommended 2 single chambers. Exact same problem

Exhaust #4

"Works for Me"

Hope is running thin... The guy at the shop was at awe on what to do so he recommended a DI/DO Flowmaster :( yuck for flowmaster, but I really need an exhaust that is daily drivable so lets go with it. Got it installed and its sounds very good. Low grumble and sounds good on accelleration. Felt good on highway with lil resonance so this is where I am currently at

Exhaust #5

"The Future"

If more mods come along I will probably switch for a magnaflow because I think there's is designed to flow much better and I believe I will enjoy the sound a bit more

the Flowmaster should flow plenty, but if you like the sound of the Magnaflow more, then go for it

Great, my power supplies just arrived. 12v, 130A

Only thing is the seller told me he shipped on the 12th of August. Papers on the package had stamps from the post office with 9th of September as a date. I waited almost a month for him to get his ass to the post office :(

Somewhat worried about flexing on the rear deck if I cut a 12" hole in it so I'm thinking of a couple of different options.

A: Cut the hole, put it in the center, and weld up a structural support spanning the entire deck and bolt it to the existing deck to stiffen it up *Not sure about this idear either*

B: Put the sub in the corner where one of the rear speakers are and expand that hole *Don't want to do because then it would be off center and I don't want it off centered*

C: Put two subs in it where the back speakers are so its even *yes, its got to be symmetric, don't ask me why*

D: Mount them in the trunk and not on the deck which I don't want to do since the trunk is sealed off fairly well.

I vote asymmetric as its always stronger.

Damn it Sean...

Your ideas got me into trouble in the first place and ended up with me sticking 3" drivers in the damn dash.

I was actually just being a dick. There isn't any asymmetric strength difference, I just don't agree with the "don't ask me why" you stated above. Function before form!

I don't know if any wants a review or even cares but saltimbanco was a ton of fun.

Lots of laughs, and more participation than I have ever seen at a show. It reminded me of a musical circus. The audio was great and clear and clean sounding. They also used some decent bass management, it did a great job of pressurizing the target center when they wanted to. Cirque always has music as a big part of their shows, but saltimbanco felt more like the show was about the music. One act was percussion of drums tap dancing where the artist used steele balls to add another beat to her tap dancing. There were some amazing acrobatics, as always, but the show was much more about having fun and how music and sounds can tell a story.

Comparative?

Delerium, is one of my favorites for the visual and music aspect, it's a wild trip. Saltimbanco was more about sound and music, and much less "dream like". Delerium like it's name is like a lucid trip on some weird mellow drug, where as saltimbanco is much more sped up, up beat and WAY more colorful.

the don't ask me why was becuase if it wasn't going to be symmetric it would just look funny to me, just the way I tick on that thing.

I am a little worried about cutting out metal from the center of the deck lid though, even if I build a brace for the entire thing...

SHould be just fine if you brace it.

I do actually prefer the look of asymmetry in things like that. Too easy to get centered a bit off center.

Not that anyone has been desperate to know but I think I am going to go with the Epson 1080UB and probably a focupix screen.

If anyone here has access to a TON of accousticaly transparent fabric for free or cheep though I could be persueded otherwise.

A nice 2.35:1 screen will be great. Thinking about 110" maybe a bit smaller though. No anamorphic lens. I'll just deal with brightness loss and use a high gain white screen instead of my original grey idea. I will try to post some pics, before and after. This will take a while though. I need to find a good deal on theater seating though. They prices charged are retarded.
