does any one here know of a good source for potentiometers? specifically a 0 - 5k ohm one?

Have you looked at www.digi-key.com? They have friggin everything. I've bought twice from them and they are very good and timely.

Or Mouser, Jameco, MCM, maybe Antique Electronic Supply for the really obscure pots/multi-stage variable caps...

If those places don't have it there's a good chance it wasn't made :D

I'm not replacing a part. It's for my senior design project.

And their warehouse/hq is across the street from the Arctic Cat plant. Thief River Falls has 2 companies to fight for employees.

Powerdyne from my SHO. Same unit Dinan used on the M3's. Sealed Centrifugal type. Could be useful if I owned a car I wanted to put it on.

I did a Momentum article on an M3 with the full Dinan package with that exact Powerdyne. I just went to look and my old Photodump account is dead, or I have long forgotten the password. In addition, I checked on CS.org and the server is busy so I cannot link the article. Wrote it some 4 years ago, but still applicable in this instance.

:)

I miss writing for Momentum, in a way I would like to restart the Mag. I know Neil enjoys writing, and maybe we could get a few others to bring it back to life supported here. I know AudioJunkies is there for a reason, but maybe bringing back Momentum which was more focused on the average experienced audio and automotive nut on the net would be worth it.

I'd love to see your article.

Not sure which edition it is.

This one.

No pics though.

Don't make me charge mine. :P

I did manage to get my sister to eat a a corn chip dipped into a bowl of Dave's Insanity Sauce once....hehehe
I use Dave's Insanity in sandwiches :P Great stuff when you don't feel like feeling your tongue for an evening. But I don't fuck with the extracts...at least I enjoy sauces for a little bit...

:bsflag:

I've seen you with hot sauces, if you're putting dave's insanity on your sandwiches you're diluting that shit like crazy first.

Man, I get to LOL 2x in a row.

I'll pretty much eat whatever the fuck that someone else will. Never ordered anything in a restaurant that I couldn't eat. I don't use too many sauces though, but one of my employees brings me back chili powder from India 2x a year. It can be as potent as you want it to be. :)

Nope, I put about as much on as I do at Dave's.

And the reaction is the same :)

you really should try the extract, there's no "eating" to it, even a drop off a toothpick is too much. Gotta love the endorphins though.

Those extract are insane. I used to make "atomic hot dogs" with that.

...I had a little fun tonight though and nearly changed my life.

Sean.

First I have to say. My names is Matt, and I'm an automobileoholic.

I was in tonka today stopping at CCFCU, and passed Sears.... How conveinient. The silver E55 is on the street. It's pristine. I nearly caused an accident looking at it, then I made some kid in there get the keys to sit in it.

The Visa almost came out..... They couldn't even find the black one or the keys to it for me. They refinished their lot, and everything is effed. I hope you end up with one, I didn't drive it because then I would have HAD to buy it. Starting the engine actually made my stomach tighten and the hair on my neck tickle. It was just a few notches down from the first time seeing a naked women. I'm not stretching the truth one bit. I have a really unhealthy obsession with fast or luxurious automobiles. I need to win the lottery. I may in fact actually dream of that car... I'm that sick of a man. LOL

The wife and I sat down for 45 min and talked. She want's a second level on the house though... so, I guess if I want to sleep with her in the next year I have to make that work ou instead.

:sigh: At times... I miss the single life.

:D

It is STILL the most comfy car I have sat in!

give us a review even if you don't buy....

I am a huge endorphin nut, but really feel that for less pain I get more out of natural hot. Significantly more.

You bastard, that doesn't help :D

I have driven one a couple times, with permission to thrash away...but never with the preface of maybe buying it. This isn't going to make it easier for me.

/\ I hope my previous problem disappears. To date, it is my favorite car to drive excluding the Pantera which isn't fair and probably ahead for all the wrong reasons.

I encourage you. I can see it doing nothing but making you smile everytime.... everytime you sit in it.

I will say the biggest shock for me was how cheep the scheduled DEALER maintenance is. Oil changes every 10k or 12 months... ok cool.

250 dollar tune up every 12 months and 450 tune up every 24. yeah. I was expecting 2 times that for those 3 special letters. In all seriousness, I shouldn't even LOOK at the car. I have a bad bad problem with sexy cars. Really, I nearly went head first into working out a price then and there.

I got dirty with the W lol.

I told her I would never mention again that she made me move east instead of west like I wanted to. It didn't work lol

How about the non-scheduled? That is what I am worried about. The other shit I do myself, actually I like to do everything but I am not sure that is realistic if we no longer have an extra car. Nor with my travel schedule, but that is harder to admit.

...well, really if you want you can buy a HUGE extended certified warranty. A huge one. And from what it looked like on paper it was bumper to bumper, for almost another... oh 5 years our or so.... You would need to get really specific, but I went into computer suspension and engine issues, and I think that would cover 90% of any "big" unscheduled costs.

And I have to admit, it's taken a long time to look over what commonly goes wrong with it, and there isn't much. and if he was honest and the bumper to bumper was real.. I don't see an honest risk.

Again look into the fine print.
