Gas. Induction is cool, but gas, well. I'm used to it, I can use any type of cookware... etc. Induction costs more usualy too doesn't it?

I Don't know what I'm looking for yet. I have gone to home depot, and one appliance place that pretty much only had kenmore I think... I just didn't like them.

I like the idea of a 6 burner, but it might be overkill. durable. Cleanable. Never glass or ceramic. EVAR.

I disagree with your glass or ceramic comment; however, only in the world of induction. Considering it never gets hot it is easier to clean.

As for pricing, a real gas range is more than most induction ranges. As for the cookware, the only thing you are limited to not using is copper and of course aluminum which I don't call cookware anyways. I do realize that 304 stainless also won't work, but have never seen a pan that was made from stainless that pure.

Guyers in Plymouth and Warners Stellian are the first two places I'd look, but Vent-A-Hood in St. Louis Park has a great owner. I am of the opinion that there isn't a single gas range at Home Depot that you can actually cook on. I find it hard to find good fiction to read...or maybe it's because I don't really sit down and finish a book like that chronologically all that often. I have a dozen or so that I really like but I should expand that...

I just grew up on Gas. I thought all stainless had an issue with induction. TY for the tip. I have always used gas I guess and love it. That and big heavy la creuset cookware.
