Don't forget that on average houses double in price every 10 years so if you don't spend it now you will later anyways. The best time to buy a house is as soon as possible. Add to that the inflation of 3% nearly equals the 5.5% of interest you will have to pay.

And of course, the real kicker interest income is deductible. If you aren't itemizing on your taxes you are getting screwed by the government.

And the morale is, buy a damn house you like and drive a bucket. It will make you happy everyday for the rest of your life instead of the next couple of years.

good point, I hadn't thought of that. Damn, looks like I'll be in more debt. ha. I plan on driving my Explorer until the wheels fall off twice (I'll probably fix them the first time). I think as you grow out of your teens and into your 20's your priorities change. As a teenager in high school, owning a car is the coolest thing, because really that's about all you can own since you live at home typically. Then once you get out of college (or work a few years if you don't go to college), you realize cars aren't all that and realize that a house is not only a cooler thing to own but makes more financial sense. I mean I LIVE in my house, but drive my car to the grocery store and work. Seems obvious which one should demand more attention.

Sorry to be the ole man talking you out of the fun purchase, but as I stated if you want a hot car buy one that doesn't depreciate and use it to smile about.

Oh no, you're fine. I wasn't thinking about buying a hot car at all. Well, unless I can save up enough to buy a Lamborghini. That's about the only one I want that's in that hot car category for me.

I'd consider the CTS-V in that category.

Definitely cars are "cooler" in your younger ages. The only kids that have houses are either renting or their dad bought them. I'm stoked that I have two vehicles that should last me 10 years pretty easy. Which means I can save up a lot of money and have me a good house when I get out of college and not worry about car payments for a while.

This discussion is part of why I get more serious about home audio and why whatever's in the vehicle is just "good enough".

Sitting on my couch and enjoying a record is free, driving anywhere gets expensive :D

I have about a $2k budget for a bike, but it's going to be hard to find what I want in that...guy in Raleigh's selling an '03 Bonneville that's basically set up exactly how I want it, just a little cosmetic paint work needed, but I don't think he'll take half of what he's asking for it.

Just make sure you can truly afford the house and plan for bad things to happen. I was very lucky to get into a job making $50K right out of HS. Now that is like winning the lottery to an 18 year old kid. I bought a car, house, and spent the money like mad. I took people out to dinner all the time, threw parties, etc. . . I always thought I was going to have that money there and never bothered to save anything. Well, long story short, 5 years later, I had no job, no money, and an overwhelming amount of debt that I am just now climbing out of.

So, yesterday I had a prostate exam again. That REALLY fucking hurt!!!

Today I had a renal ultrasound.

Friday I have to go get a camera on a rod shoved in my cock.

Could I be any more violated?
