Pics of our cars all taped up required.

all this taping, done to prevent chipping? bugs? both? i've never seen, nor herd, of anyone doing this. lol, would totally piss the wife off if i got up early and taped up the cooper. might jsut be worth the money in tape to do so.

put my father's day gift on layaway. ruger mark III with a baskina, basker, some cheap red dot sight. gotta wait my 3 days. grabbed a portable shooting bench as well. sweet gifts. now i have a platform to see just what the .17hmr can do!!

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

that .17hm is a pretty badass little cartridge, 300yds is a fricking craps shoot though. :)

i finally got a place to shoot the lil bastage too! my 500 yd range finder is useless there, lol. it goes WAYYYYYYY out. i'd say 1k yds anyway, though i won't try that for awhile. the bsa sweet 17 is already graduated for 300, so i'll try for that anyway.

the ruger mark III i just bought will be topped with a barska red dot. hear, or know, anything about those? it doesn't have to be the greatest, it's jsut for plinking and maybe the occasional animal.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Never taped up my cars.........might be an idea when i move

I just choose not to tailgate anyone :P

I try not to myself, but the rocks in New Mexico, and Texas were hell on my Explorer before so it might be even better on the Integra.

Hell I may just do the whole car............in part to give SSA a version of that threat, and just for shits and giggles

My only ? is will the rain kill the tape?

Hmmm, don't know much about red dots, haven't gotten into that side to much. The only thing I don't like about the Mark III is the lower on it is made of a polymer rather than the mark II which is made out of steel (ours is anyways). Also don't know how windy it is over there, but if your trying a long range shot with the .17, it had better be damn calm otherwise you'll have lots of fun trying to dope the wind. :)

But if there isn't a car in front of you to make them hop up into the air how do they get in your paint?

I am a huge fan of following at a large distance from people. Huge, although I do realize it isn't always possible.

I also would have expected that we would have a worse rock situation since we purposely put them on our roads in the winter for traction, but I have never had a car with a problem. Sure there are a couple in all my cars, but considering they are at the 100k mark and I didn't buy them new that is expected.

Sean would hate to ride with me. My person bubble ends just infront of my bumper.

Of course, this is only when I have intentions of switching lanes or when I'm angry at the person in front.

The only time I've had a rock chip on my windshield was actually from the car that was in front and one lane to the right while we were in a curve

stratusfaction has a huge chip in the windshield.

was following my uncle when he had his airstream, we pulled off the road to check everything at the beginning of the trip and as we pulled back on to the road a rock about the size of a baseball comes off the tire and bounces about two times before hitting the windshield. i have no idea how it didn't shatter the bitch.

Actually, it hasn't started to peel or crack anywhere, I'm a bit surprised. Faded, sure, but it's never been waxed regularly, and it's a commercial vehicle anyway so I couldn't give a shit.

Try riding behind the stupid assholes here and u'll understand. They switch in and out of lanes with ZERO reguard as to how close they are to you. So far my car has escaped any major scrapes and dings thank god.

I'm the same. I've seen too many rear end accidents and they're all caused by the person behind not paying attention. So I leave a lot of room so that my brake lights are on for a little bit longer and can slow down slower so that I make sure I have their attention.

I've also seen a ton of accidents where you have 2 lanes of traffic going one direction and a long line of cars stopped at a stop light in one lane, while the other lane has significantly less. The car in front of you switches to the shorter line without even hitting the brakes and when they swerve you're faced with stopped cars right in front of you. That's why I like my Explorer, I can look over most cars and see that happening. Although usually it's just another time of paying attention and looking ahead, because there are always ways to see around the car in front of you. Some people are just glued to the rear end of the car in front of them with their eyes.

I started applying my SS Spectrum this weekend. Got the two door panels covered in 2 layers (1 Quart Total) Now I have 20 more quarts to go. Hopefully I can hit at this stuff slowly and finally get it done. With the addition of the new car as wellI'll have the option of leaving the truck torn apart for a week if need be. Once I get the doors completely done (FG the holes, liquid deadning and Ensolite) I will get the Sundown 100.4 put 2 channels on the DLS Components and build a ported box for the MAW-10 and finally have some real tunes in there!

this mark III is all steel. maybe you're thinking of the 22/45 which resembles the mark series? except they are polymer and have a 1911 style grip layout vs the mark series luger style. i was told not to get the 22/45 due to the polymer lower getting loose and wiggling.

i'll let ya know how they both pan out, lol

I assume the green painters tape will be fine for my trip. It says it is UV resistant and has a 30 day removal span. Should work just fine.

Red car with a green front end ... f!ckin' Christmas rolling down the street.

Scotch #2060?

I might just have a green car with a blue front end with green accents

I think it may be Painter's Mate tape. I can't remember the brand off the top of my head.

Just make sure to wear the required hat. :)

I had a roll of the green stuff not too long ago, it was narrower than the regular wide blue painter's tape and I found it at pucking Wally World, of all places.
