Works a hell of a lot easier then cramming for me

Probably the reason I've had a college level reading and writing comprehension since the 4th grade. Either that or your average college student has the reading and writing comprehension of a 4th grader (could be either nowadays...damned kids)

I particularly enjoy the professors who have no problem going off on a tangent to something and end up discussing real stuff with students. I have friends who can't do that, they have to have this straight and narrow learning track, but f' that.

what part of the industry?

He used to do some kind of audio engineering with large sound systems. And commercial design. Not sure exactly actually.

I have yet to have a question he isn't able to answer

I had a 'college' reading level since grade school if I remember correctly. Although after knowing people in college i realize know that doesn't take a whole hell of a lot.

You need to ask him what the most badass thing he ever designed/built was and report back. :)

Couldn't tell ya. I think he worked locally. I'll have to ask him friday possibly if I see him.

He has suggested me a lot of good reading. Sound System Engineering by Don Davis. Some of that stuff is nuts, however i just browsed through a copy and never had a chance to actually read it :(

It's all about setting up speaker systems and it takes every aspect of the electronics and acoustics of sound systems.

I know he's not limited to just audio either. He's got a RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) degree, Some degree having to do with Cisco networking and has worked in just about every field, RF, telecommunications, network, industrial control, audio etc.

Stats are easy. But time consuming. Whats the standard deviation of blah. and blah. That's about all I remember about statistics now.

But why are you doing stats from that class? How does it apply?

I'd imagine for sensors and stuff you'd be concerned about distribution of observations, whether or not things are in control, going out of control, in specification, etc, etc...
