And sand...and sand...and sand...and sand some more.

Random orbital sander works awesome. :)

Ryan, do you have any tricks for making miter joints look pretty after they've been fucked up?

I have an outside miter on the bottom trim of the BIB's...accidentally put a brad too close to the edge, so now I've got a little hole on both sides of the joint (took the nail out and re-attached the pieces)...I'm thinking some filler and sanding will take care of it, but it'll piss me off if I notice it too much...

Not fuck them up in the beginning? :P

I'll bet if you putty it with decent filler and sanding no one will really notice at all.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...:D

Would have cut new pieces but I didn't have any extra, and didn't really feel like running down to Lowe's for one 1x3.

The urge for getting a motorcycle is getting stronger, though...it'd be the perfect commuting vehicle, not that I'm commuting now but it'd be at least something fun to go around town with.

Driving is a chore right now, something I could take up the Blue Ridge Parkway every now and then or out to WV would be pretty fun...

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police have begun a campaign urging elderly drivers to "have the courage to give up your license," according to a message on its website. This effort is in response to the mounting accident rates of Japan's rapidly aging population.

Over the past six years, the overall number of accidents has declined in Japan by 20 percent while accidents involving drivers over the age of 70 have skyrocketed by 35 percent. Elderly drivers are being offered various discounts and perks from over 30 different businesses if they are willing to relinquish their licenses.

Got a way to clean up the part I fucked up on the BIB's, going to have to wait three weeks or so until I go home next and bring back my flush trim router and compound miter, but I can wait on that...purely cosmetic detail.

It came that way. :)

They cut it on a CNC router, then they have tables and air sanders set up to wetsand the edges. I've got a few more of them circles floating around too.

You can cut it with a tile wheel on an angle grinder, then you can polish it with grinders with the right gear as well.
