I vote the Impala for a stop-gap car. Better than than the Grand Prix's, in my opinion.

There is also an '07 Monte Carlo there ... however, I just think the four doors might be a little more practical for me.

what about a maxima? dont know what the newer useds one run. but i love my 98'. its a 4-door and me and mk know how quick the new generations are :) even though it is a v6 FWD

I've got a 12" Revo from Audiopulse that I'm wanting to move right now. 28mm Xmax, 1500 W Rms, 1 - 2.5 cubes. I wouldn't say it's a small box driver, though...average box, really. It is very good but not cheap either.

I'll have to check in with you later this summer to see if it is still around.

I am going to be spending quite a bit of time driving in the next few years so this summer brings a new or new-to-me vehicle. Going to look around tonight to see if I can find any decent deals. Been looking on Autotrader.ca a lot lately too. From what I can see right now, the '07 one year lease return Impala's or Grand Prix's for ~ $18,000 might be just the thing to hold me over for a few years and treat me well on the highway.

I' d' rent one first, major pos's imo. Of course i have only driven the stripped rentals, but the hyundai is WAY nicer. :(

I can see you in a black A6, or silver E320. Used of course to bring the price down.

Wow ... the used A6 seems to be pretty well priced. $14-$16K (CDN) for an ~'01.

Just was thinking the AWD and great ride would be right up your alley. If you are doing mostly highway, I say avoid the 2.7T. Great motor, I got to drive the very first 2.7T motored car in the US (when I was with Motor Week, it was actually in a Passat), and it has wonderful forward squirt, but if you are mostly highway crusing, the added insurance and fuel consumption is not worth it.

2 yrs ago we paid 16k for any 02 with 30k on it,loaded with the 3.0

The 2.7t is too spendy to fix and crappy in cold climates, unless you like replacing turbo's

The 3.0 awd is great though!

1 warning beware of loose front ends, not a prob on ours but a spendy fix if it has slop
