Your thoughts....

If you are without a girlfriend or wife, do you miss that?

If you do have a wife, do you ever feel like you could do without that?

I've been with my girlfriend for almost 4.5 years and I just feel like I'm wasting my time and hers. I don't want kids when I'm older and I don't think I want a wife who wants or needs things because I intend to be very career oriented. So I am thinking about calling it quits.....but what if my mind changes 10 years down the road? Would I regret not being with her? But does it make sense to stay with someone because you think there's a possibility you might change your mind in 10 years?

Hmm, I feel for your disturbance young skywalker. Amusing that it happens less than a week after you saying you might pop the question. I think your thoughts are pretty natural and the concern is real...but welcome to life. Do realize that neither you or her will change. The real question is are you happy and will you continue to be. Don't pick your idealistic life and fit it to the scenario, but consider your life now and what your soon to be plans are and think about it from there. You can't plan 10 years and be accurate (think about 10 years ago and where you wanted to be). Tough though, I know how you feel. If you want my phone number it is a pm away. Either way the rash and quick decision is the wrong one in a scenario like this, take a step back ponder and go at it with a plan.

I don't see why you couldn't get the good majority of the stains out of the carpet Tom. Probably 2 or three cans of carpet cleaning stuff would do 'er. Cheaper than new carpet. :)

Considering new, good carpet costs 3-400, I'll probably try cleaning it first.

steam cleaner rental, $20

the ones for house carpet will work fine?

Yes, and fill the bish with boiling water instead of room temperature. The hotter the water the better.

Mk. I'll try to find one this weekend.

Some of the names tied to large carriers is quite interesting. :)

Makes sense. If you need a legit business, you have a need to move illicit product, and you generally want to be mobile perhaps trucking is in your blood.

If you were around here Tom I would just have my roommate borrow one from the dorms, he works for housing and dinning on campus and its what we did last time we threw a party and a arseho pissed on my carpet upstairs.

That was a hell of a morning, guy pissed on the floor, roommate threw up and passed out, ruined the futon (no big loss), cleaned all the carpet in the house, went to go get pizza for lunch, got rear ended at a stop sign by some arseho in a F-150, didn't hurt my truck, put a dent about 8"x12" in his bumper, both me and the roommate hung over...

What I want to do is be able to turn all my gear on and off from my universal remote. Seems like a simple task, wrong. Of course I'm using rack gear so therefore remotes for those don't exist, and there isn't hardly any power conditioners under 500$ that have a remote.

Adcom pre-amps used to have a relay option that would turn on other devices.

any chance they make a surge protector with a remote? google says belkin will have one by this summer

Smarthome.com get an Insteon or X10 controller and turn on anything you want. All my lights are controlled this way.

-40F = -40C so it doesn't really matter what they were talking about

When he rear ended me, got out, etc. Went to the back of the truck, stood there, looked at his, looked at mine, looked under mine and saw that there was no damage...

By this time my arseho button had been pushed. :)

Pointed at his dented front bumper, pointed at the untouched ass end of my truck...

"Well, this is a hell of an argument for the Fords suck and Chevy's are better argument, just look at this."

He just grunted. :)

Another forum I am on does not understand (for whatever reason....well, I guess I know the reason is stupidity) that -40 degrees Celsius is the same as -40 degrees Fahrenheit. They seem to think that -40 Celsius is like breaking 0 Fahrenheit.

Subtract 32 and divide by 1.8. Simple. :)

or multiply by 5/9...you guys do everything backwards :)

It would be simpler if someone didn't come up with a temperature measuring system that the zero crossing point being when sea water freezes lol.

Fahrenheit was a German, amusing that we use it here. 0 was the coldest temperature in his home town and 100 his body temp. Nice friggin scale.

Haven't been able to find one of those either. Hell I'll just take a power something with a remote.

I have one remote that works with my TV, my stereo, DVD, cable box, lights in the house, it will even control win media player and the volume on my pc. I think I paid $30 for it.

You need an appliance module. (no dimming and supports 20A, the light modules only do 15a and allow dimming which wouldn't be good)

Do those do RF as well? The lights in the house are RF and remote lights are WAY more importnat than remote stereo.

Everything's good over here. I am a thinker...so I sit there and think and think and think and think...it gets me into trouble.

I told her that sometimes I want to be alone and I don't know what my future in a "family" holds but I know for now I am happier with her than without so might as well take things as they come.
