We mostly drink Cabernet Sauvignon -- Cab's lol.

As for how long for company, I should probably discuss with the better half but I hadn't really planned on going anywhere that whole weekend.

I just hate alfredo period

Ah, but I would argue you have never really had it. Either way fine to hate it.

Never freshly made.

Then again I am not a mayo, or really anything 'creamy' type of guy.

No salad dressings and basic simple food too.

The W to be will prolly get me to change that. She LOVES to cook.

Is it bad when you're shopping around for a setup that you know has no chance in hell of fitting in your apartment? :D

At least I won't have to worry about not having good sound when I come down here, I guess...

Alfredo shouldn't really be creamy, but cheesy. Basically mac & cheese is the American crap equivalent; however, with any cheese sauce on pasta the key is always good cheese. If the cheese is good, the pasta will be. In the case of Alfredo it is really 95% cheese, with the other ingredients being butter (enough to barely coat the pasta) and a very minimal amount of cream, just enough to get the cheese to melt smoothly.

If you don't like Parmesan though you won't like it; however, I will add that the SHIT that comes in the pre-grated container is not parmesan but imitation. Real parmesan cheese is usually around $25 a pound, not $1.99. (it should have the word Reggiano after it as well)

As for eht Parm. lession that I know.

I preffer fresh parm over 'pre-made' any time.

For the Alfredo, didn't know thats what it all really was.

Maybe sometime I'll try it again.

The recipe at TGIF is somethign like a stick of butter, half cup of milk, and a little bit of crap parm. In my case it is 2 tbsp of cream to 2 cups of parm with only enough butter to make the noodles happy. Last night I even left the butter out as it is far from the important part of it and I didn't have any :D

I like beer...a lot. It's really the only alcohol I can drink. I think I've got around 40 different beers on the shelf in my room here. But I don't begrudge anyone for drinking, say, Corona. Some people like $5 t-shirts, I like $40 collared shirts; that's cool.

:woot: $5 T's!

Curious to know who Jeff, Randy & Jason are.

Jeff (werewolf) is an EE who donated the Klippel to DIYMA. Randy (the other hated guy, also goes by Hebrew Hammer on other forums) is a big elitist. Jason Winslow (thehatedguy) is an ex (I think) Image Dynamics employee. Randy and Jason are pretty (in)famous SQ competitors. There was a big blowout involving the three that resulted in Jeff taking the Klippel away from Nguyen, so I assumed that was what you were talking about.

It's a mixed bunch over at DIYMA. Some are great, others....

Actually I don't mind any of that crew, it is the influx of the opposite end of the spectrum that bother me as well as the general tolerance of the board to let it happen. I don't tend to agree as often with Randy & Jason, but it Jeff's scientific approach I appreciate.
