JACKSON, Mo. -- A collision with a semi-trailer truck seven years ago left 52-year-old Deborah Shank permanently brain-damaged and in a wheelchair. Her husband, Jim, and three sons found a small source of solace: a $700,000 accident settlement from the trucking company involved. After legal fees and other expenses, the remaining $417,000 was put in a special trust. It was to be used for Mrs. Shank's care.

Instead, all of it is now slated to go to Mrs. Shank's former employer, Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Two years ago, the retail giant's health plan sued the Shanks for the $470,000 it had spent on her medical care. A federal judge ruled last year in Wal-Mart's favor, backed by an appeals-court decision in August. Now, her family has to rely on Medicaid and Mrs. Shank's social-security payments to keep up her round-the-clock care.

Typical Wally World...

Jim the page doesn't load, I get a 404 but I think you understand what I'm trying to say ^_^

Just search for "tube sockets" on there. They have 8-pin, 9-pin, 4-pin...pretty much all the common ones.

Got me curious though, what are you building/replacing? :)

there are some Klipsch Fortes going very cheap on ebay right now and the guy is willing to drive to Tulsa which is only 2 hours from myself. Just seeing what my options are ;).

They're a good deal if you can get them cheap enough...they could really use some reworking of the crossover though. The Klipsch boards and Audiokarma have a lot of info about rebuilding the Xovers for different results. Stock, I think the midrange horn is way, way too bright and unlistenable if you don't have an EQ handy.

Now that I've heard La Scalas, everything else Klipsch just doesn't match up :) Well, except K-horns and Jubilee's...

I'm Reallllly having an urge to build some bookshelves for a Usher 8945P driver and some unknown tweet currently since I'm looking at using the driver for the 5.1 home theater project I'm going to be doing here soon.

Plus I just want to play with the driver.

I've actually seen la scalas but both times I've seen them locally they weren't hooked up. My good friend actually used to have a pair, I'll have to ask him what happened to em.

Got someone to switch shifts with me, now I don't have to drive through Houston at 11PM :woot:

Better 11 then any other time, rush hour is from 5 to 10 usually.

And thats 5 in the morning until' 10 at night

true dat

your definitions of rush hour are amusing. to me rush hour means under 30 in a 60, otherwise it is just traffic in which case cities like Chicago have "rush hour" 24 hours a day.

I haven't been through Houston in a long time where I didn't hit 30 in a 65 (65 in texas :) )

60 in some areas of houston boo! i want 70 again :)

Hmmm, what I would like to find is 3/4" 13ply Mahogany veneered plywood that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.

I know of where I can get some, but it is so god awful expensive by the time I had enough it would cost more than my entire basement setup almost. :(
