So I parked in front of a locked gate to a parking lot. (were talking chains and keyed master lock) I come in my room, set my stuff down, typed that reply and walked out. By the time I got out the president of the university called the cops and there were two cops around my vehicle with the lights on, the whole deal, and they wrote me a parking ticket.

Heres the convo me and one of the cops had (mind you there was 3... for a parking violation)

Cop- "The cop over there is writing you a citation."

Me - "Your writing me a citation?!?"

Cop- "Yeah man look where your parked"

Me- "So I'm getting a ticket for blocking a locked parking lot?"

MORAL: THE PRESIDENT OF LAMAR UNIVERSITY IS A DOUCHE BAG!!!

Here at Tech they'd just tow you for something like that. I remember once my freshman year I had to run down to one of the lots, and move the van as a tow truck was circling the lot...predatory towing has been a big issue with some of the companies around here.

Part of the reason I don't drive to campus anymore.

I don't get it. I'm not some homoredneckbuttf!ckcheeseweenie prof who wears a tweed sportscoat over a solid colored t-shirt with jeans just because I have that status. I'm also not going to wear a brown knit sweater that my mother gave to me back when they were inventing the wheel. I dress well for some classes, but I'm sorry ... a first year garbage physics lab does not require me to wear a suit.

Eff him. One of the brightest prof's I took classes from used to play live Dead bootlegs during finals and regularly wore tie die and other hippie wear to class.

Pondering my new home music "system"

I would like to have my music and sound card on one pc and be able to control it via ethernet from other pc's. Is there any sort of remote desktop software that you guys know of that won't require Winsuck Server edition?

Also curious as to the length limitations of a touchscreen. As having a few of those scattered around the house would make rather cool remotes.
