Eh, the .17HMR would suck for killing people, the bullet isn't big enough.

The .17 does pack a hell of a punch though for what it is. It'll put a clean hole through 10ga sheet metal, no complaints at all about the bullet except that wind plays hell with it.

Now if it was an M1A SOCOM, that'd be a little different

julie pointed out how i haven't bought anything for myself in quite some time that isn't car-audio related. (fiero doesn't count since it's not for me) so i'm thinking about a new gun.

i've been wanting something just to have fun with for a while and that .17 really sparks my interest. i don't want to spend over $500 and my cheap ass will probably just end up with a savage from wally world.

I've heard that the Savages from wal-mart have troubles feeding the first round from the clip, and the Marlins that you find elsewhere, the quality of the stock is horrible. My boss bought a Marlin and its one of the ugliest guns I've ever seen.

damn it. i've also been wanting one of the hi-point carbines...not a .17 though, bullets in bulk are probably just as cheap.

i've heard of savages having feeding issues, no specifics though
