I ran my system for a couple hours last night, at pretty decent volume, and didn't even drop below 11.5V lol

PDX's are efficient bastards.

Were they hot at all ?

Ive been wanting to get some but the passive cooling on them doesnt look like its all that great.

so i got the pair of rlis in today in .5ft3 sealed each

pretty happy with them and im considering running a single ported instead of the pair hmm

Personally I would think that to be a mistake. IMO sealed with that 8 is the way to go. Plus the box for one is huge.

Single 8 with 500w with a 10" pr for me please.

I just need to fix the surround, crappy glue came undone.

i love dad's sheet metal cutter. no real trouble with 1/0 and 2~3 mm metal.

the door panel was a piece of cake.

had to trim some metal to fit the mli.

i was in shock when dad told me he could get some rings machined out of aluminum instead of the "classical" mdf :D

As long as you use an isolating barrier between the baffle and the mount I'd like an aluminum baffle. The mdf is naturally deader and better at decoupling, but a bunch of modelling clay and that issue goes out the window.

how about using deadener between the ring and sheet metal ?

forgot to mention : i don't know if i can get the thickness i want, so i could be using 2 rings

modelling clay just like the kind kids play with ?

Sort of the kind kids play with, non-hardening. I use it on both sides of my mdf baffles.

New job is working with UUV's (underwater unmanned vehicles), and I am tasked out to track down some major components. All of which have a great deal of limiting factors that are hard to meet so far.
