ryan1 are you properly breaking them in or just giving them hell right from the start?

I do everything the "proper" way. I just got a little excessive on this last one way too often and way too early. Doesn't really matter much as I had to pull the tranny down anyways, and I have 2 spare clutches lying around, so no big deal to spend an extra $15 getting the flywheel resurfaced and sticking a new clutch in it.

Good luck matt.

I was able to get a little work done on the civic today. Finished the make shift spacer rings. Found out the 2500D is just too damn big to share the back of the seat with the two classic rf amps for my active front stage. Have to use them with out end caps, stinks because I paid extra money for them due to their intact end caps, oh well. All RCA's are run, just have to remember to attach them to the 880 last. Have to salvage wire from the explorer for power and ground for the RF's. And need to cut holes for tweets too. I think an order of RAAMATT is in need soon. Not to mention a new box design specific for the civic.

Marks at the big show in vegas right now. He and big Oso are hanging out. I hope a few people can get to see the ICONs and hear his truck.

Got all the wood cut for the BIB's today.

Hopefully I can find some time this week to get them glued up.

uhh check my math guys:

54" Wide

35" Tall

18 1/2" Deep

Does that really equal an internal volume of around 17 cubes?

hmm, even with port taking up a little room, I'd guess thats too much for a single ICON.

are ICON's more of a SQ geared driver?

Technically yes. But Mark and I have been discussing an SPL build with one in my truck.

So the box will be tuned pretty high (don't know how high yet, gotta get on a TL and find resonant freq) and the overall volume will be bigger than normally recommended.

So I'm thinking about building the box for the ICON and temporarily running it at 4ohms to my ARC 2500CXL. 1245w.

Should be decently awesome.

Or possibly building a sealed box for the XJ15 from Kyle and running that at 4ohms on the ARC as well.

Good morning SSA peeps. Just like to say my T-shirt and stickers look great on my ass. Of course everyone keeps telling me shirts aren't worn on your ass. What do they know?

Tune it real low and that should sound really sweet. I like tuning subs such as the ICON and the MAG in the 27hz range, but many people feel that it is too low and tuning in the 31-34hz range would gain a little on the output with out sacrificing low end. But the more people that have an ICON and test it out, we will get closer to finding an optimal sweet spot for the average install.

If they can't hear a difference between a 34Hz tuned enclosure and a 27Hz one, they either have lead ears or are listening to the wrong material to tell...
