Welcome to the IHoP

So I've got my truck in the shop to replace the EGR, that hit a snag... Worked on the box a little bit... Got some primer on it and decided to run the power wire in my truck. Pull kickpanel, carpet, trim, and find the floor pucking soaked with antifreeze...

My pucking heater core is out, god damn it .

Just what I f'ing needed. Now I don't know if I'll have time to get the wooferage done during break. Damnit. But i'll finally run the RCA's/Rem/Power/Gnd wires under the carpet right now that I've got the carpet torn up and the passenger seat out.

...going to check out said auras

Perhaps not enough excursion capability or power handling, but they sure look like they could put it out. I dig the Aura's too.

Sorry R2, at least you shouldn't need heat for a few months. You could just loop the heater core hoses together and call her temporarily solved.

Then it won't stop the tunage.

that sucks ryan, at least it wasn't something thats gonna take guess and check mechanic work though.

i think the stratus is having heater core problems, thats the only thing i can think of causing my strange heating problems

I've had more troubles on my Chev with 85k on it that I did on my Ford with 360k. I am not happy about it either.

since you're both here, tell me if you've ever heard of anything like this

the stratus warms up and goes to the same temp it always has. I have no overheating problems at all. No loss of fluid either. But if you are not moving, and you turn the heater on, it'll only blow hot air for a moment, then it starts to cool and the engine temp will drop a little with it sometimes(when it's cold outside, no idea about normal temps).

but so long as you're driving, everythign stays hot and fine,

after a long amount of driving (~1hr) if you stop you can hear the fluid draining back out of the heater core but you can hear it gurgling for 4-5minutes

sound like a partially stopped up heater core to anyone else?

Except for the chit you know is going to break, like the heater core and EGR we haven't had any problems wiht any of our chevys. We've got a Chevy Astro van with 250k+ on it and the most expensive thing ever done to the engine was a new EGR valve at 160 bucks.

I too say it sounds like you need to "burp" your cooling system.

Either that or for some other reason the level of coolant is a bit low.

coolant was a bit low, don't think it was enough to matter, i topped it off, we'll see how it acts.

my son's friends were over last night as i cleaned out the garage some. so, before tossing a few subs, i decided to blow them up (all had cones/surrounds that were torn). man, you should've seen those kids. especially when i sent the first memphis pr to it's grave. scared one kid right off the sidewalk, lol! here's the break down...

15" kicker L7 @ 8ohm..wouldn't die. wired for 2 ohm, it lasted 1:45 (minutes, seconds) i'm impressed!

15" memphis pr @ 2ohm and up firing lasted :45. again, i'm impressed!

15" memphis pr @ 2ohm and cone down on the sidewalk lasted :32. impressed again!

15" jlw0@ 4ohm went pfft. maybe :05. there's quality for ya right there. lasted as long as a jensen 10 i smoked last summer.

one kid called his mom and asked if he could stay over as "Damon's dad is blowing up speakers! it's loud and he's plugging them into the wall. it's cool!" so, i'm sure i'm some kinda town psycho now, lol.

was fun. need to do it again.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

you weren't before? :):P
