I found this stuff at lowes that is like body filler, only its watter activated. It's like $7 for 4lbs of it (probably close to 3/4 of a gallon). I'm going to see how it works out for a mold.

A WHOLE lot cheaper than Bondo.

And a lot more fragile . Sounds like you got the powdered wood filler that you mix with water. Shrinks like a mofo :)

It's called "like a rock" and says it doesnt shrink but it will expand if it comes directly in contact with water or humid air so painting or sealing with epoxy is reccomended.

Did it come in a bucket ? I got this crap one time that was a powder. You mixed it with water, and it became a paste used for wood filler. Believe it said something about not shrinking as well. But the mdf sucked the water out of the chit really quick and the stuff never really hardened right. May not be the same stuff, I can't remember the name off hand :)

Same thing happened to me sort of. I built an end table that I was going to put a marble top on. Went to tile on the top and it seemed to work fine, but picked it up and the top came off. The damn MDF sucked all the liquid out of the quickset. I figured with the quick setting type it would be fine. Oops, painting it first next time.

Even with paint you're looking at two coats of primer...the first coat just to fill in the MDF, the second to actually seal it :D

I'd paint it like a car since I am lazy. Multiple quick flashed coats with the paint gun ftw :D

Anyone know how to clean ricotta out of a cd drive ? :)

CB was melting all sorts of stuff with a heat gun, maybe that would work. :rofl2:

Man you got to use the hillbilly sealer. 3 parts glue to 1 part water. Mix it real well. You want it just a hair thinner than latex paint. Brush that chit on, let it dry. Paint on another coat, let it dry. Sand it smooth, prime and paint :)

I thought hillbillies huffed all their glue and made it so you need an ID to buy any in town. What kind of glue??

If they are real, you betcha. These are from the store and are quick and easy. I don't have as much time for lunch as I do dinner preparations, that and I am sure that Ramos's Lasagna is great.

I went to Harbor Freight yesterday.

I was suprised at the quality of the tools...complete junk.

Not a single thing was worth it except for a DMM and some clamps.

The sad thing is....you can buy that stuff at sears for like $20 more and not worry about it falling apart.

And the facat that they had friggin country playing. I cant stand that music...

" cuz she only smokes when she drinks" wtf !?!!
