got my new toys :woot:

Now I get to figure out how to set every up...damn thing has a million adjustments...

No pics until I bring everything back to B'burg. No point seeing the mess I've got here just to test stuff. And the stereo I'm using isn't too great.

My last guess, but the engine options don't sound quite right.  An International Scout.

lol..nope, it's a car silly....

BUT, for those interested....

if you can find a dodge ramcharger with the rear seat delete......then it doesn't have to have one per dbdrag rules.....

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I've never competed in anything so the rules>me. I would like to enter the truck perhaps, but should figure out what the SQ sanctioned rules are for around here. I actually haven't seen any comps listed...

sq is so biased towards the install rather then the sound quality it isn't even funny. i dunno why someone would even try to compete in sq anymore...unless they had unlimited fundage...

i'll let you in on the car i'm looking for though....

has to be after 1975, but i want/need a 75-80 ford pinto cruising wagon....

don't laugh, but i have a few ideas and that car is perfect for them.....

well, go ahead and laugh, it's cool...lol...i laugh at it too....

even got a name picked out for the car, but that will stay a secret until i get it done...

muhahahahhahahhaah, the name alone should be worth 10dbs...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

If you really want to have fun, get the German bean conversion kit for the engine. 200hp in that little beast and they rip.

With a little mod those Pinto Bean engines can fit in an aircooled VW for a 200hp 1400lb ride.

I used to share similar concerns . But at the time I was heavy into dbdrag, and nspl . Bout the only sq oriented competition circuit was iasca . And they were heavy (still are in my eyes ) on the wow factor influencing judges . if it sounds good, and is safe. what fooking difference does what it looks like make? But recently Dave, Jim, Webster, and Aaron have gotten me into the sq side of the world. Here at local shows it's pretty much run what ya brung, best sound wins. Which is the way I think SQ should have been all along. So now my fat neck arse is gonna go play with the big boys in modified with a system that cost less than some head units alone ;):)

Nah, gotta go neck style . Tub it and dump a 302 or 351 in it. And race against the guys with the blown dusters :)

If playing with matches makes you wet the bed. What does playing with a heat gun make you wet ? :)

Had another thought for the "omni" build I am thinking of. Going with a 2/3" full range and an 8" woofer for the sub 300Hz. Would solve the issue of not having the tweeter and 7" driver completely on axis with the diffuser.

But that isn't cheap and easy, plus your drivetrain will outweigh the car. Neck style indeed, but slapping a Pinto engine in a VW is pretty neckish as well. Just a slightly more dignified neck <---oxymoron
