Welcome to the IHoP

I've got a whole bunch of pictures on here that I don't think I posted yet, of the weekend Tom came up...

Think I'll post those along with the preamp shots, as well as some photos of the Field Day site two weeks ago...well, when we weren't staying under tarps from the rain or running away from the big antennas when the lightning came down.

Doing a little wood work in the garage, pretty boring little table but only $20 versus well over $400.  Will post pics tomorrow when I finish it.  I am waiting for glue to dry.  The guy at the kitchen store asked how I was putting it together and almost chit when I said I was gluing a table together to hold a $2200 grill.  IMO glue>screws and I am too lazy to try and hide all the screws.  There will be a couple bolts holding the shelves on, but the rest is glue and maybe some brads if I can get my gun back from my bro.

Moving sucks. Just to clean up my house to try and sell it I took 7 pickup loads of chit to a storage unit.

more memory FTW. i just went from 128 meg and put in 2 sticks of PC 133 256 meg and holy hell does the computer load faster. web surfing is faster on pages with lots of graphics and memory stealing programs like itunes load much much faster.

next step is me actually getting a pentium 4 and decent non dell motherboard for my internet cruiser.

Tom-

A 6-71 Detroit diesel is 6 cylinders and 71 cubes per.

The "muffler" on it was actually billed as a "spark catcher". It is in a big loader that we use. Its just plain loud and awsome.

I'm surprised XP wil take 128 meg of RAM (assuming you're running XP)...I haven't run less than 512 in a while, think I have a gig in the laptop now...but I've sort of fallen out of the loop when it comes to "DDR" and those acronyms that have come along since I was into building computers. Video cards in particular...that was something that completely exploded in a couple years' time, now people are running more processing power in just that board than whole computers had not too long ago...

Hell, the last time I built one, the Pentium MMX was still around and you were doing something if you had RAM with IC's on both sides of the PCB! :D

Oh, opened up the preamp box...and she's a beaut ;) Cosmetically flawless, we'll see if she fires up. But it's going to look purdy in the equipment rack, for sure.

I really don't want anything to do with work tonight.

It's amazing just how many people piss me off ... just by opening their mouths.

XP will take 128 and Pentium 3 800mHz but nothing less. I had 128 and 1.2gHz now i have 512 and 1.2gHz....really i dont need anymore for right now, not like im doing major graphics or games or doing video editing. Just crusing the net and dowloading music and what not.

My computer is fast and going from 512 to 1024 made a significant difference.

Uhmm...the mighty mouse has right click. Even though it looks like a normal mouse its touch sensitive

And you can use a normal mouse with a mac, the right click works the same.

I dont see a problem ?
