what's the difference between a 528i and 328i?

The 528i is larger, more hp and overall better.

More horsepower? 2.8L I6 in both, same engine, same horsepower.

Going to be 0.5cuft sealed forward facing.  Was going to do down, but instead am going to glass the bottom of the box.  Everything just fits better that way.

I'm curious as to how it'll sound in that large of an enclosure

Mike recommended .4 to .6 so I thought wtf. It is easy to make smaller.

how much power are you using?

he recomended .25 to me, but i feel they need to be bigger (450w to each)

It will be getting 280w from the 5chn of an Eclipse PA5532; however, everything in the truck is ready for a 2nd RLi8 and a Memphis Belle 1300.

Of course for some reason BMW is selling 325's now that actually have the 2.8 in it. They stopped making the 2.5L (just bored to 2.8) in 94/95 and turned it into the 2.8L. More recently it grew again to 3.0L but is still very similar in design. 2.5L before 1992 are not the best because of the timing belt, in late 92 they switched to a "maintenance" free timing chain. Really my favorite BM'er motor is the 3.5L, not the one in my M but the more stock boring beast. I have seen multiple beat to chit ones with well over 300,000 miles. We yanked the head on a buddy of mines with 80k and could still see honing marks, that engine is da bomb.

I will clarify my BM'er knowledge wanes greatly with the really late model years. I just can't afford, nor do I like the newer ones as much. Too much drive by wire and other chit. I like the good old fashioned engine, clutch, and minimal computer interaction--controlling the injectors and such is great though.

And you aren't in contact with the road. Steering by wire scares me the most. Love to see that computer fail......

By the second or third generation it may be okay. They are using almost video game like technology to provide feedback with servo's on the parts said above. Funny they isolate you and then come up with an expensive way of un-isolating. Crazy Germans.

I do have to give a big shout out to the local welding supply here. I went in with little 12 gauge wire cut to length for my big three, they cut the 1/0 and put ends on for me all for $20. :woot:
