still awake aye?

My laptop keeps overheating and freaking out.

I'm gonna go get some of that heatsink conducting goo and smear the processor and the GPU real good with it.

Probably wrap the HD in some kind of heat reflective wrap too.

I gotta figure out why the fan stopped working.

500V @ 35mA across your fingers is a good reminder of why you should always unplug amplifiers that have almost half a farad of capacitance per channel before swapping tubes.

Way back when I was in school. While in the electronics lab. We would charge every fooking cap we could find before we put them back in the boxes :D Then sit back and wait for the fun to start  :)

THink I'm gonna get the 9835 fixed, and get an 880 prs to play around with. Sounds to good to pass up for the price 75% of the funtionality of the p9 for less than 50% of the price. hhhmmmmmm :)

Nice units...

Although if I was going to get a Pio to play with, I'd try to find a deal on an ODR combo :D

I got hit with 480 once. Placed my hand on the primary side of a step-down transformer, after being told that the disconnect had been locked and tagged. I should've checked for myself, cuz just as soon as I bent down in that panel and placed my hand on the transformer, next thing I know I'm up against a wall and a couple people are asking me questions. That was not fun.

I used to do that with the new caps we'd sell with motors. I never got to see anyone get it, but I imagine we had some surprised customers when they returned their motor back into commission.

Quick question for you box freaks out there. I have only built round ported enclosures in the past, but want to do a slot/square for the RE10 that I bought from Eldo for my bro-in-laws boat. My question is what is the difference between slot and square ports--the friggin link is broken. And also what value should I use for the length.

By hand calculation R=A/Pi Lv = ((1.463x10^7)(R^2)/(Fb^2Vb) - 1.463R I get 40.4" when using a 10.5" x 2" port. My confusion lies in that the calculator on http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 states different lengths for slot and square ports for which I see no difference. And also the recommended enclosure by RE yields a port length of only 30"s. I based all my calculations on the RE recommended 1.25cuft at 30Hz with a 10.5"x2" port. Here are the two calculators using carstereo and the RE. WTF??

I'm gonna say square ports usually are equal on all sides. Slots usually are taller than they are wide. Slots also usually use a side of the enclosure for one of the walls. :)

Even still if the area is the same shouldn't they be the same length?

I do trust my hand calc of 40.5" the most, but when RE publishes about 30" it makes me wonder....
