Networking them is pretty easy, especially if you are running XP.

4.7GB. Maybe network your computers and make a shared folder. That would work too.

All three are running off of one wireless router (two desktops are wired, the laptop is running wireless right now).

If I drag stuff into the shared folder it should be available for all three units? I'm guessing it's going to be more complicated than that.

I just don't want to have to re-download everything again.

You have to set up both of the computers to "share" and then indeed they should see the folders.

Yup, it will be available for all 3.

I just dragged my music folder into the shared folder ...

~ 80 minutes to transfer my music from computer to computer - 9.16 GB's, which isn't a lot.

Even with the 11g wireless it should be faster then that; however, the winsuck time calculator is always way off

they need to lose the audio equip, with that kind of car i'd make sure even the driver was on a diet.

i wonder why they stuck with the red valve covers though? in the one shot with the two engines side by side the silver valve covers would have looked better IMO

you really should put it there

I refrained exclusively since the owner posts here all the time, they are stupid posts but nonetheless I don't want to be a dick here.

I guess that is pretty obvious. As for removing the audio equipment in the M5, I would have run IB. Actually the BMW optional stereo in the E39 M5 includes 2 8" IB subs, they don't sound all that great but they seal up the trunk and make it easy for you to swap them out.

Well look at the amount of weight you could save, sure with the HP they have it won't matter that much for acceleration and none for top speed but curves and stopping could be affected. plus, with that engine, which would you prefer to hear, any music, or the sound of redline?

Depends on how you drive the car, if it is a beast you regularly tool around in I'd keep the system in. For the track obviously not.

Best way to transfer stuff from computer to computer ... music, pics ... etc ... one by one file attatchments to my Gmail account won't cut it ... would take a lot of CD's too ... (unless DVD discs hold more than 700MB ?)

Why bother wasting hard drive space and time by putting them into the shared folder ?

Start > My Computer > Right-click on the partition you want to share > Select Sharing and Security > Click on "If you understand the risk but still want to share the root of this drive, click here" > Check "Share this folder on the network"

You'll still have to download the files onto the laptop, so basically over doubling the amount of time it would take doing it the way I specified above; not to mention it takes up another 9+ GB on the main computer ...

He was told to move it into the shared folder, which duplicates it ...
