Its ABS plastic with fiberglass in it.

Not as bad as pure fiberglass but its still itchy.

My dad's M3 looked a lot like that.....

It should, I almost put an M3 shifter in but the M Coupe had the shortest throw so it is out of one of those. $35 for the lever few bucks for the various bushing crap and voila cheap short shifter. Not the $300 kind from UUC.
