Costco now sells ipods and imacs

The new imac's built in speaks suck though, older speakers are much much better

I won an Ipod shuffle in a raffle I entered at a small tech-fair thing here...not really sure what to do with it yet. Resale value isn't high enough for me to want to sell it, I'm thinking I'll get a pair of Grado SR80s for it or something. Or the equivalent Senn's, but I like the Grado's I've heard in that range.

Anyone painted brake calipers before?  Since I am putting more open rims on this spring, I thought I would paint the calipers when I do my brakes.  Red crossed my mind, but I like the subtle black.  I imagine it should be pretty easy, clean, clean, clean, paint and assemble?

Mine were pretty easy. Never get too dirty, so the cleaning was the easy part.

Did you spray them? I have a paintbrush (hehe), airbrush, and auto-body gun. I would prefer to not remove them however...so lazy, hate brake fluid, gonna pay someone to flush them as I don't feel like rebuilding a tool to do it. Just curious as avoiding any "learning" mistakes is great. Only time I have ever painted a set they were brand new, made it pretty easy to mask and spray.

I don't mind if I have the right tools, but I'm anal-retentive if I have to freehand cut something with a jigsaw or circular saw or something. Give me a table saw or properly-set up miter saw and I'm fine, but I hate using freehand tools.

Tools ftw. Makes it fun versus a chore.

Yup. Rattle can job. I already had them removed to polish them, but decided to only polish the Cobra on them and paint the rest. I simply sanded them with some 320, wiped down with lacquer thinner, masked appropriate area, tacked them, then painted.

*weighs removing caliper effort vs. a huge tape job*

From what ive read they are pretty good.

I'm just waiting for specs.

The one mono amp is rated for 1500@1 yet it has 4 40A fuses..hmmmm

Now I just need a place to put all this chit...perhaps convince my dad to build me a set of shelves, or else I won't re-wire the furnace blower motors :)

We operate that way a lot, he won't touch anything electrical the same as I try to avoid woodworking whenever possible. Works out well.

The opposite is true for me and my dad. I'll do the woodworking, he'll do the electrical. Dad even admits I'm a better wood butcher than he is... Which is a good compliment in itself.

f'ing ground loops...grrrrrrr

current differentials make me le angry

probably going to have to get a big-ass isolation transformer for the preamp, monoblocks and turntable to prevent the thing from sounding like an SPL vehicle during a burp @ 60Hz...

Try looking for 13's that are comfortable and good looking and cheap

It doesnt happen to often.

I had to go to about 5 shoe stores before i could find something i liked that fit, forget about cheap price....

And they didnt have the colour i wanted

Umm, try 15's. Those other little ones are super easy in comparison. At least, a good portion of shoes are made to 13, but none of them are the cheap ones.

tape job

tape isnt hard to remove or put on

True, but I am pretty anal about what might overspray onto the car so I will have to tape off a bunch of she-i-o.

I went to every store in town, nothing ...

Every store in the next closest city and every store either didn't have my size or didn't have the colour I needed (black) ...

The ones I did like in a different colour, I couldn't find in black anywhere ...

I ended up settling on 2 of the 3, decently-priced and comfortable ... Downside is they're suede, which I'm not incredibly fond of :(
